Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(April 3, 2004)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 4:15 pm by Denny Deal, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club.
SPECIAL INTRODUCTIONS:
Denny introduced new members:
(1) Richard and Pamela Davis
SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella gave Secretary Report. Last month’s minutes were summarized, details posted on club web site.
OLD BUSINESS:
(1) Denny provided more details about Vintage Vehicle TV:
- Proposal received and reviewed by Board
- Board recommended $600 package. $300 required up front, balance due on day of filming. No refund if rainout.
-VCR/DVD tape copy supplied. Denny asked membership if they wanted DVD or VCR? Membership opted for VCR.
- Club members can copy, but not distribute to non-club members.
- Denny sent letter requesting a contract for the $600 package.
(2) Lonnie discussed Board’s decision to pro-rate club membership dues through the end of the year on a quarterly basis. All members will get renewal notices on October 1st, with actual membership cycle running from January 1st through December 31st.
TREASURES REPORT:
Lonnie Santella, gave Treasurer’s Report:
(1) Announced current balance of Club’s bank account of $3,643.82
NEW BUSINESS:
(1) Denny talked about 50/50 Raffle. Tickets were sold. Drawing held at end of the meeting and Janice Babcock won $35.
(2) Denny talked about Suggestion Box, which is now available to membership to leave comments.
(3) Lonnie talked about GTO Hot Line, which is going into effect this month for a 3 to 4 month trial period. Its use will be monitored to see how well its received and used.
(4) Denny talked about 2004 GTO Car Clinic, which will be held on April 17th, at Denny’s warehouse in Woodinville, WA. Denny gave out literature, including map. Identified 13 volunteers to help with assistance, including Mike Buzard, John Pearson, John Bozony, Brad Barrie, Kevin Reed, Mike Boutte, Don Crenshaw, Lee Hansch, Gary Tischer, Wally Santella, Mark DeCosta, John Pignataro and maybe Stef Fafnis.
(5) Denny mentioned Steve Martin and his conversation with Goat Herd about having our two clubs do a picnic together in August. Goat Herd will take it to their membership and vote on it and get back to Martin with decision.
(6)Wally explained GTOAA and their insurance process. Wally talked with Tom Szymczyk and Tom explained that Bill Markowski (President) has a company that provides insurance and will send us forms that need to be filled out for each club sanctioned event that we would need insurance for before the actual event.
(7) Denny announced that the July 3rd club meeting will be held in Issaquah, at the Triple XXX Drive-In. Bring photos of cars, door prizes and discounts.
(8) Lara Majors talked to the membership about this year’s Rainier Run:
- Lara gave details of this year’s plan and explained that this info will be posted on the club web site. She provided a flyer to the membership, with all the important information. All cars will register at 9:00am, at Art Gamblin Motors and must be back downtown Orting, at he picnic site by 5:00pm. Registration is $25.00 for one hand, $40.00 for two hands, and $10.00 for each additional hand.
- Lara has already started to line up sponsors.
- Lara explained that she will need lots of volunteers to man check-in stations, etc.
(9) Mike Santella talked about Hueling Brothers Dealership:
- Club should pick some GTO’s to bring to the event to help celebrate debut of 2004 GTO.
- Scheduled for April 24th
- Mike will talk to “Lou” the Sales Mgr about 4 or 5 cars that we would bring.
MEETING ADJORNED:
Next club meeting was scheduled for May 1st, 2004, and the current meeting was adjourned by Denny Deal at 5:05pm.
