Just an update from the " Skunk Works" on Lara's '66. Paint work is finally done! Many thanks to Stef and Lee (Kapowsin Engineering) for their help! Lara is keeping pictures and a daily log of the restoration process and parts and materials list documenting all of the processes in restoring this car. Lonnie has a great picture of Lara welding on the hood, I'm hoping he will post it , as he could get away with it. She'd kill me! Anyway, we're hoping to get the motor from SD the middle of May, and have the car on the road the middle of June.

Sounds GREAT! I can't wait to see the car on the road, Rainier Run here she comes! And to think she'll have a better engine that Gary's '65 ;-)
Whatcha gonna do Gary when Lara's car out runs yours? You won't be able to catch her any more LOL.
Now I have to ask.. was Lara welding on Lee's hood? the welding hood (hat)? and if so, was his head (hat) on fire again?

Congrats to Lara, and her new '66

Al, the picture is priceless and closely guarded. Lara looks like a character from the Star Wars "bar scene" with lots of sparks flying around. Only she and Lonnie have the discs that have the photos, so I don't have access to them (probably a good idea). Maybe we can get copies from Lee who took the photo. We could have some real fun with it!

Looking forward to seeing Lara's '66 at Tiger Run. Any plans to take it to the drags on Sunday?

Wish we could have it ready for Tiger Run. Unfortunately, it still needs an engine. We're hoping to get the engine at the beginning of June, as the car is supposed to be ready for show mid-June . I won't be driving to Tiger Run this year, as I'll be at work, but am hoping to fly in Saturday for the "festivities". See you all then, RGDS, Gary
