Northwest GTO Legends Board Meeting Minutes
(June 5, 2004)

MEETING OPENED:

Board Meeting called by Denny Deal, at 2:30 pm, at Galliano’s Cucina, in SeaTac, to discuss different ideas and issues pertaining to actions, activities and plans for NW GTO Legends club for 2004.

SPECIAL INTRODUCTIONS:

Denny Deal introduced Rob Robertson, who has a 69 GTO that he is restoring. Rob is considering joining our Club. Rob WILL join if he knows what's good for him ;)

MEETING ATTENDEES:

Denny Deal (President), Steve Martin (Vice President), Lonnie Santella (Treasurer), Wally Santella (Secretary), and John Pearson (Board Member at Large)

SECRETARIES REPORT:

Wally Santella gave Secretary Report. Last month’s minutes were summarized, details posted on club web site.

TREASURES REPORT:

Lonnie Santella, gave Treasurer’s Report:
(1) Announced current balance of Club’s bank account of $3,584.21


OLD BUSINESS:

(1) Denny talked to the membership about Tiger Run.
- Good turnout, lots of cars at Pilot Butte, Kickoff BBQ was very successful.
- Northwest Legends had 4 winners at Car Show, including “Best-of-Show” winner,
Dennis & Janice Babcock.

(2) Denny spoke again about more members helping with our Northwest Newletter. We need stories, pictures, articles, etc.

NEW BUSINESS:

( 1 ) No 50/50 Raffle will be held today, because Denny forgot to bring raffle box.

( 2 ) Denny explained to the member, the reasons why we are trying out some other locations for our meeting location, including today at Galliano’s. We are trying to improve the quality of the meeting for all members, including sitting locations, sound distractions, non-member disruptions, etc. Meetings will be back at Bison Creek in August.

( 3 ) Denny talked about next month’s meeting at XXX Drive-In in Issaquah. We will meet first, conduct our business, and then adjourn to eat. Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, July 3rd, at 4:00pm.

( 4 ) Gary Tischer talked about his new 2004 GTO. He thinks it’s a great car, runs fast (very easy at 80 MPH) handles well. – Gary is a happy camper.

( 5 ) Denny explained to the membership our plans of this year Northwest Legends Muscle Car Show in September. Explained the planned pricing:
- $15.00 entry fee for each car entered into the show.
- $3.00 per car of people just wanting to attend show.
- $2.00/person for “walk-in” traffic attending show.

( 6 ) Lonnie explained our new membership renewal process, that include quarterly rebate of $6.00 for each quarter that has already passed, at the time a new member joins the club. Membership will run from Jan 1st thru December 31st. Renewal notices will go out on October 1st.

( 7 ) Lonnie talked about Hiatt Pontiac Dealership in Tacoma and their desire to have at least 6 GTO’s from our club to help promote the 2004 GTO on Saturday, June 12th. Lonnie stressed that he would like to see at least 10 cars, but was having problems getting enough commitments. Lonnie will continue to recruit.

( 8 ) Tom Willett talked about the Greenwood Car Show, which is scheduled for June 26th. Tom will be the event coordinator for this show. He suggests meeting at the ZOO Parking Lot, at 50th and Fremont, between 6:00am and 6:30am.

( 9 ) Lara Majors discussed the 2004 Rainier Run, which is schedule for July 24th, “Rain or Shine”. First car leaves at 9:30am and last out at 11:00am. All cars will register, starting at 9:00am at Art Gamblin Motors, east of Enumclaw on Hwy 410. Lara read of the long list of sponsors, which includes 25 businesses.
- $15.00 t-shirts were made available to order and they will mail shirt.
- Lara explained the different sponsor prizes, many many.
- Lara made pitch for more volunteers. All “check-point” volunteers need to be in Enumclaw by 8:00am.

( 10 ) Steve Martin talked to the membership about our plans for the Goatherd/NW Legends 2004 Picnic. It will be held on August 21st, at Ft. Borst Park, in Centralia. Take exit 82 of I-5. Steve is still checking on some of the details and will report at next month’s meeting.

( 11 ) Bob Black talked to Jim Wangers and asked membership if they would consider inviting Jim again to our Garage Tour. Jim says he enjoyed the Tour and Christmas Dinner very much. Denny talked about inviting Jim to our 2005 Rainier Run. More discussion will follow in future meetings.

MEETING ADJORNED:
Meeting was adjourned at 5:05pm by Denny Deal. Next meeting will be held on July 3rd , at the TripleXXX Drive-In, in Issaquah.
