I remember going to SIR back then in my Dad's 63 Catalina wagon. We would pull right up to the return road and watch the cars go by, what a blast that was. These pictures brought back those memories as if I was sitting in the back of the wagon watching the cars coming back down the return road. Cool stuff!!

Here are a few more pics. I do remember that the dragster being pushed back on the return was owned by the Smothers Brothers . Maybe someone knows who's cars the others where. I believe they where all local cars.

Way beyond cool, UR Honor, have you any more of these ?
Love those OLY cans on the headers of what looks like a green hemi powered rail, of course they serve a purpose and somebody had to remove the contents of those artesian made beer cans before using them too :lol:

My earliest memory of SIR is when my father took me to the 1974 Fall Nationals. Some dragster blower exploded & hit a lady in the stands. :shock:

Those were the days.
