As recorded on our club calendar, we're hosting a joint picnic with the Goat Herd'ers on the 21st of this month. The letter below is a copy of what Denny sent out:

Picnic - Update
It’s been a number of years since we’ve gotten together with our friends from the south at something other than “Tiger Run”. Since August is a quiet month for both clubs with their major event over and ours coming up the following month, we thought it might be fun to pick a location between Portland and Seattle to meet and spend 3-4 hours with the Portland bunch.
The picnic will be held at Borst Park in Centralia, WA. Arrival time should be around 10:00 – 11:00 AM.
For those interested in traveling down together, we’ll be meeting at the McDonalds restaurant at I-5 and State Road 512 at 9:00 AM. From there the trip should take less than an hour. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can spend some time visiting, relaxing and enjoying ourselves. There are factory outlet stores within walking distance and a small lake at the park for the youngsters to fish in. Might even be able to work in some games.
Everyone is responsible for some type of side dish or chips, salsa, etc. As indicated at our meeting on Saturday, the Club will supply the burgers, dogs, buns and condiments. Enter the park and look for signs indicating “GTO PICNIC”. This isn’t a car show so bring your car down, regardless of the stage of restoration it’s in.
Directions:
Take I-5 to Exit 82 in Centralia. Go west when you exit to Belmont Street (this is only a block or two off the freeway and there a Union 76 there), turn south (left) and Belmont runs right into the entrance to the park. Follow the signs. Hope to see you all there!!

This is a great opportunity for our south-enders to join an event a little closer to their neck of the woods. Scott, Stephan, Dave, Brad, Doug, Pat, Richard, Kevin, Al, Paul, - you guys should try to make it.
