I've been slowly replacing my rubber hoses with braided ones. I've done the fuel lines, transmission lines, & some breather hoses with a mixture of Russell & Aeroquip. My question isn't really about mixing hose & fitting brands. That's probably okay.
My question is whether you can mix styles. I got some AN -12 aluminum fittings on Ebay that look similar to the image below (though the colour is different and I was told by the seller they are military surplus):

The part that accepts the hose is different from the Russell and Aeroquip fittings I've used before. I've test fit the fittings on regular rubber core stainless braided hose and they seem to fit extremely well. Of course, I won't know for sure until I install 'em and then fire up the car.
Here's the dilemma. They're oil lines and I'm a little uncomfortable installing the hose & fittings not knowing if anyone else uses this style off fitting on a regular stainless steel braided hose.
Anyone familiar with the various types of fittings and which ones you can mix 'n match?
