Hey everyone, just a reminder that the annual BOP Drags & show is this Saturday at Bremerton Raceway. This is a great event with lots of cool cars on display as well as many Legends ripping it up at the track. I've talked with many who are planning on coming: Royal Botkin and the Gold Tiger will be there to hopefully dip further into the 9's. Dan Willms is making the trip from Canada also with the Class of '66 GTO which has been running in the low to mid 9's. Bruce Morrison, ReedRacing, Pig, Kennedy, Stefan, and more are regulars at this event and make for some exciting action. Things get underway around 9 AM and run till about 4 PM or so. After the drags/show there is the annual Beistline's/ NW Legends Chili & Burrito feed. Chuck & Annie Beistline have hosted this bash for a number of years and always a great time, a perfect way to cap off the day.

I will attach directions to Bremerton Raceway as well as to the Beistline's afterward for those making the trip over. Chuck & Anne's place is about 5 minutes from the Bremerton ferry also for those wanting to ferry back to the eastside. If you are planning on attending, we usually ask people to bring beverage of choice as well as a side dish, dessert, etc. The rest is covered.

From I-5 take the Hwy 16 exit which takes you across the Narrows Bridge and onto the Kitsap peninsula.

FROM TACOMA
Travel Highway 16 toward Bremerton. Take the Tremont exit in Port Orchard and go left on Old Clifton Road. Go Left on Sunnyslope Road. Immediate right on Clifton road to end.

Thanks Brad for the 1st class reminder :!:

This indeed is the grand finale of the summer.

All indications this evening from the Full Throttle Saloon indicate a high barometric pressure keeping the onset of nice weather in the area for the duration of the week & into the weekend. The green light is flickering greatly into the night as Legends prepare for the all out assault on the peninsula pavement Saturday.

Great to hear Chuck & Ann have committed to yet another year of GTO's & mayhem disrupting what normally would be a quiet neighborhood.

Ahhh, it will be a memorable event indeed. At this time let us reflect on last year's joyous occasion:

Back at the Beistlines, a normal neighborhood gets invaded by thirsty Pontiac gearheads.

Here Royal Bob Botkin takes advantage of a hungryman size portion of Chuck's Chili & Burritos. Bob figures if he runs outta gas on the drive home, he can manufacture his own.

I almost forgot.
Come one come all, to see this cat bust out with his game face on & run his Barrier blue bomber on it's yearly excursion in daylight.
It's like preparing to watch a comet in the sky at night. You gotta get a glimpse of it, because if you miss it, it's gone for another year or so.

Awesome pics and great captions too, very good.
Gee, Royal Bob kinda looks like a rumdog in that photo, doesn’t he?

Could we have a good set of directions to the track for the Seattle folk that don’t know the Bremerton area too well?
It’s been 2 years since I was over there

Let’s pray to the gods and to the spirit of Chief Pontiac himself for dry weather and for permission to consume sustenance in the form of Oldsmobile kabobs
