No, No, No! What are you thinking? Sell the Buick motor and buy a pontiac motor, I am sure there will be fabrication to be done to shoe-horn the Buick motor. Not a good idea, but it's your car and you don't have to listen to me.

Don't do it!

There are Pontiac motors around all over the place.

Don't resort to a Frankenstine transplant. It would go against the "car guy" code of ethics.

Don't do it. You'd be driving a Puick! Yuck!

Lots of engines around and lots of people willing to help out. I'm in Victoria so it's safe for me to say so.

67 GTO Boy,
Where are you and what engine do you need? automatic car? Are you looking to simply put a runner in or would you like a correct engine.
If you have the original engine I'd sell the Buick power plant and put the money into you GTO engine. If youi're needing a GTO engine, I have a couple extra engines lying around.
a 1967 "YS" 400 for an automatic complete but needs rebuilt
a 1967 "ZK" 400 from a Gran Prix (running engine set up for a 4spd)
a 1971 "YS" 400 block and most everything needed to put it together

I also know where there is a '67 "WT", a 67 "WS".

If you want to build a good strong engine, then Bill's "70 "WS" 4 bolt main listed here on the web site would be a great builder since it's a 4 bolt block.

On the subject of putting the Buick engine in..... I've seen GTOs with Olds engines in so I know it can be done, but .... why LOL?

Bill,
There's a '68 in Bellingham that's on eBay at the moment, it's suposed to be a HO, 4spd car. and ... yep... I'm thinking pretty serious about it. I need to get up there and check it out before I bid though.
Shoot, I'm even thinking that I shouldn't have sold the "Pinkster" and I may buy it back. It's carosel orange now though so I'd have to have it repainted. Pink of coarse LOL.

Bryan,
Mark Neary is just around the corner and a little out of town out in Dufur. He'll proably have a couple big poncho engines to choose from. But you can't have the '67 "WS" HO engine he's got, I'm wanting that one, why I don't know, maybe you should get it so I won't spend my $$ on one I don't need :-) Your car's pretty solid, that will be a nice ride when you're done. Go for a 428 or 455 poncho mill.

Well, I've got a running 455 I'd be willing to let go, let me know if you're interested and I'll get you the specifics on the thing. I'm with the majority here, pontiac power is what you need, the swap to a buick engine would require some other goodies to mount up your alt and pwr steering and such.

Stefan,

I'd like to hear more about the 455 as I may be interested.

Thanks,

Hey Brett, give me a call at 253-862-6864 before 1:00 pm and I'll give you some more info. I drove the car home and it ran real good, 103,000 miles and no smoke or funny noises. It's a 73 vintage out of a full size car. The only thing missing is the carb, and I could probably get that if needed.
