Man, I'm glad they brought the GTO badge back but why stick it on a Grand Am?

Hey man, color me GOOFY, but I like that car. I just don't see how we can expect to see the GTO of old, not with the technology of today and the euro styling. I think Pontiac went with the only thing available today, without having to build a whole new car and take a bunch more time to do it. I hate to say it, but we will never see the GTO of the sixties, so this may be the only thing that will come close. Who knows, it may be a flop, but I still like the looks of that car.... Sincerely yours, GOOFY! :P

I wasn't even trying to say its a *bad* looking car. It's good looking. My beef is that it's not unique and *looks* as though GM cheaped out in order to bring the GTO badge back.

There are plenty of examples of other manufacturers bringing unique and good looking cars to market. I read an article over the weekend that says there are more new models being introduced than any time in the last 30 years or so.

After the Aztec, I think Pontiac needed to put a little effort into something. Too bad it wasn't the GTO.

I am just happy to get the name back out to the masses. It will add so much more to our cars in terms of profile and publicity. Besides... when one pulls up along side you and you blow his (or her) doors off... The truth will be obvious!!! There is NO REPLACEMENT for the REAL GTO's!!!! ;D

This one here in painted up like a ’69 Judge looks cooler than the other 2004 GTOs I have seen

8) The car looks too much like a BMW with that nose job. It's not tough looking, kinda like a lightweight, probably will be popular with the ladies.

Well, I would like to see one in person ???

I am glad that the brought the name back, but it looks too much like Grand Am and GP.

If I had the money I would buy Botkin's conv. but it is to nice for a everyday car...

Yes, there is some Euro cars that I would own but they are not in the same price range as the new GTO. :D

Looks like a mustang with a grand am front end. not what I had in mind at all. This one IS the best idea I have seen so far.

But really..2004 GTO should be a RAM AIR VII car. At least 6.5 ltr. (Triplefuel injected.hahah) Hood Tach. Rear spoiler. 6 speed manual DN. Over under-headlights 65-67 style that are also hideaways. a pair of cheater slicks in the trunk & no factory spare. And so on. What would you do if you could build your own- order from scratch? Anything you want. Now it gets fun.

Y'know, that's a good point G6T8O. I hadn't thought of that but you're absolutley right. When you put it that way, I'm not as sure why the new GTO doesn't appeal to me as much as the old one.

I suppose it's still a little too much like when GM slapped a Nova badge on a Toyota. There's no apparent effort on the part of the company and there's absolutlely no connection between one generation and the next.

On the other hand, the GTO evolved from the Tempest & other Pontiacs. It was a true Pontiac & GM product. I don't know what to think about the new GTO.
