Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(February 5, 2005)


MEETING OPENED:

Meeting called to order at 5:08 pm by John Pearson, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club, at the Bison Creek in Burien.

John recognized special guest, Sid Larsen, President of POCI.
John recognized and welcomed new NW GTO Legends members, Bobbie and John Calvin who have a 1964 GTO.
John recognized and welcomed the following guests: Heidi and Gary (Gary Tischer’s daughter and her boyfriend ) and Mike, Gary’s grandson.

SECRETARIES REPORT:

John Pearson gave the Secretaries Report, base on notes provided by Wally Santella, who was not present for this months meeting. Last month’s minutes were summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site.

TREASURES REPORT:

No Treasures Report was given, as the new Treasurer, Amber Engen, experienced car trouble on the way and was late for the meeting.

OLD BUSINESS:

1. Tsunami Relief Fund Raiser. Brent West was to provide an update on the status and plans for a Muscle Car Show event to raise funds for Unicef, but he was not present for this meeting. More information will follow at the next Club meeting.

2. Lonnie Santella announced to the members that 2005 Membership Dues are now due. He reminded the membership that Membership Renewal Forms are now available at our web site.

3. Wally will complete the GTOAA Chapter Survey, along with our Club’s Roster, and send them, along with a check for the Club’s officers to the John Johnson, the GTOAA Chapter Development Director. The GTOAA requires that “older chapters” maintain a minimum of 33% GTOAA membership and that “newer chapters” maintain 100% GTOAA membership.





NEW BUSINESS:

1. Denny Deal announced to the membership that the Spring Car Clinic has been scheduled for Saturday, April 16th in Woodinville, at the SASCO building.

2. Gary Tischer recommended to the membership that we put together a Club Display for the Seattle Roaster Show. This event will be held on the first weekend of March, (4th, 5th, & 6th). We would do a new display for “2006”. Mark DaCosta will assist with this task.

3. It was announced that the Corvette HP Swap Meet will be held next weekend on 2/12/05.

4. Lara Majors announced plans for this year’s Rainer Run:
- Scheduled for Saturday, July 23rd
- The event will be run backwards, starting in Orting and finishing at Art Gamblin Motors in Enumclaw.
- Lara will need four (4) strong volunteers (one to help with promotions, one to handle the money, one to accept poker hands at Art Gamblin Motors in Enumclaw).
- The “Pediatric Care Center” will be the charity again this year.

5. Lara Majors finally received her Special Recognition Award for her annual Rainer Run efforts.

6. Sid Larsen of POCI announced to the membership that the 10th Annual POCI will be held on June 10th in Puyallup. The BOP Tour will be held in the summer of 2005.

7. 2005 GTO Norwest Muscle Car Meet – There will be a meeting at the XXX to cover the things that we need to do to have our car show at the XXX in Issaquah, on Sunday, August 7th. Issues to be covered include DJ, door prizes, awards, porta potties, etc.

8. This years Tiger Run will be held on the Memorial Day weekend.

9. 2006 GTO Calendar – Denny Deal and Stephanie will take photos for the calendar. Al Swearingen provided update on his production process and other calendars that he has done.

10. A 50/50 Raffle was held and John Pearson won $42.
