Yep, me again.
Photo Cruise #2 will be down the Columbia River on our way to Tiger Run. It's a longer drive but worth it if you don't mind getting to Bend a little later. (about 5pm)
I'm leaving with the 9am group at Hwy 512 and I-5 Friday morning for Tiger Run and will be going down I-84 towards The Dalles. Then south to Bend.
Some of the photo sites will be the Vista over looking the Columbia River (there are two of these), Multnoma Falls, and anything that comes along the way, even Marc Neary's gas station with his Pontiacs sitting out front (there's usually always 1 or 2) in Dufur, about 15 miles south of The Dalles. Numerous wheat fields, rivers, canyons etc along the way too.
An alternate route would be to go south from Hood River up to Mt. Hood and get some photo's at Timberline Lodge and Mirror Lake (same area) if it's open, then south to Madras/Bend. However some snow may still be in the areas making it tough to get in where the photos could be taken. This option would be great in August.
Another great oppertunity and a fun cruise.
Warning though, it does add on a couple extra hours and many extra miles to the trip to Bend.
