Hi. My name's rob, i'm 23 and I'm addicted to gto's. I've wanted one since I was 10. I've been working on cars since I was like 7 and I've decided to go on the hunt for my very own GTO. My favorite is the 69 hardtop. I love the flip up headlights and the body contour. I've been serving my country for the past two and a half years in the navy and now that my ship is dry docked I think its time to start my dream. If anyone knows of a 69 GTO or clone-able thats for sale Please let me know. I'm not looking for anything expensive. I'm looking for a gto sitting in a backyard or something with most of the parts intact. Rust is no problem. I need the car to run. It doesnt have to run good... but it needs to run. The only place I will be able to work on it will be at the base auto shop. I want to join the northwest GTO legends as soon as I get my car. I know I dont need one to join but I wouldnt feel right. So please... If you have an old 69 sitting around somewhere that you just dont have the time for.. or if you see one somewhere... let me know.
P.S. I have a 11 month old daughter with multipal medical problems.. so the cheaper the car.. the better.

As a small token of my graditude for your service to our country and the fact that you love GTO's, I would be honored to pick up your first years dues to join the Northwest Legends. Get the paperwork into Amber and I'll cover the dues. Welcome aboard.

Rob,
Al here. Would a '68 do? The car has hide away headlights, 400, automatic, PS, manual brakes. Pretty much the same body lines as a '69 with only a few differences.
Let me know if this would work and I'll get more info to you.
Welcome to the forum here W.O. Screamin' !
You'll find a bunch of really helpful folks here that share your addiction, hehehe. Good luck with your search for a GTO and we hope the best for you and your daughter/family.
Survivor, you are a good man for offering to make the dues for our new forum man here, very considerate of you.

hey lonnie,
we need to like have a member of the month for such things like this. this just shows how most of us here are bunch of great guys and gals. maybe the prize each month could be you having to give the winner a ride in your sweet 05!

Wow. All I can say is wow. You guys are really great and know how to make someone feel at home. Ted, I dont even know how to say thank you. That is one of the kindest offers I've seen in a very long time. Between all the bad things happening around here and a sick baby who went through 4 surgeries before the age of 9 months, I think joining the northwest legends will help ease the stress in my life and give me a little something else to think about.
Al, Yes a 68 would do just fine. As long as it is affordable. My finances are just a Little tight right now due to the fact that the government thinks that military families can live off $100. lol. Just let me know some details. If you want to contact me tonight (friday night) you can email me at pysher@stennis.navy.mil I will be here all night because I have duty. If you want to contact me at anytime after tonight, email me at pysher@gmail.com
I just want to say thank you again to everyone and I look forward to maybe showing up to a few meets sometime and checking out the goats. By the way. I live in bremerton so I'll eventually start frequenting the raceway.

Your welcome Rob. I have a deep respect for our military, particularly at times like these, and don't think they get enough credit or money for what they do. It's obvious you are passionate about GTO's - just the kind of guy we need @ NW Legends. Look forward to meeting you and most importantly, hope your daughter is doing well.

Contact Mike Santilla about a 66 goat for sell that he knows of. He is a member of the club. Don't know his phone number. I am sure someone in the club has it.

Mike Santella is pretty firm on his price, which is $9-10K.

I'm looking for something $3000 or lower. Like I said.. It doesn't have to be in all that great of shape... just perferably running.

I don't know how far you are willing to go for one, but I have seen a couple of ads for '68 GTOs in/around Oregon recently.
I just saw this one today - it is listed in the Eugene newspaper:
68 GTO project, 350 Turbo Hydro 400 $2500. 689-8008
Location: OR Date: 5/6/2005
There has also been one listed recently on the Portland craigslist site. It has been listed several times (and the price has dropped a bit since the beginning), but I haven't seen the ad updated in the last week or two:
http://portland.craigslist.org/car/70181506.html
The ad says it's in Vancouver - might be worth checking into if still available as its been for sale a while and the guy might be willing to deal.
