I keep looking at the ticker and man it's getting close. I will be sending out an official Tiger Run flyer (like I do every year) that will have schedule and directions for everyone that is planning on attending. For now though I want to get the word out early so those that might be on the fence about when they are coming can adjust their plans. I have sent out this official invite to members of the host club, The Goat Herd of Oregon, and wanted to pass along to any and all interested in joining us.
On behalf of the N.W. GTO Legends, I would like to thank you (The Goat Herd) for hosting Tiger Run! As I mentioned before it truly is the highlight of the season for many of us. We so look forward to the End of May that we started the party a little early a few years ago. A fellow member that lives in Bend invited a few of us over Thursday night before Tiger Run, for a little kickoff BBQ. This has grown into a good sized gathering that includes many Pontiacs as well as some cool rods & customs. In years past we've seen a few Goat Herd members attend, but I wanted to officially invite any and all that would like to attend. The more the merrier, as they say!
The festivities start this year on Thursday night (May 26) where there will be a Northwest GTO Legends sponsored Welcome BBQ at fellow Legends members - Kelly & JoAnn Lay’s ranch just outside Bend. This is a potluck get together and promises to be a good time. There will be burgers and dogs on the grille, but people are encouraged to treat as potluck and bring a dessert, salad dish, or snack that can be picked up at a local market. Also, this will also be B.Y.O.B for those needing a little high octane. We will furnish soft drinks.
Things should start around 5:30 PM at Kelly’s ranch - here are the directions:
Take Hwy. 20 west out of Bend, through Tumalo, 1/2 mile past Tumalo Feed Co. take a right on Gerking Market Rd. Go 3/4 mile and take a left on Rudi Rd. (Now freshly paved!!) Go apprx. 1/4 mile and take paved driveway on right. Bring the goats and we’ll have a Thursday cruise-In! Hope to see you there.

Friday morning we have planned another cool shop tour cruise. We started this - again, a couple of years ago and this has turned out to be alot of fun. Kelly Lay has put together a couple of stops that allow us to cruise our cars and see some cool places. This year we are returning to visit Big Mike at BMC Choppers in Bend. Kelly will have another secret stop that he has yet to reveal, so stay tuned. Any and all are invited to join us. We will meet at the host motel, The Bend Riverside, and leave around 10:00 AM or so and caravan to our destinations. Things should be done by lunch so we can possibly take a drive out to The Pilot Butte Drive In for a little lunch.
