Race belts

My race belts are mounted on the existing bolt holes in the floor. I've been told the buckle part can't be flat to the floor were it's bolted in. My question is can I install a eye bolt in the existing bolt hole and bolt the belts to the eyebolt and will that work for tech?

Wow, I heard that before but they have never said anything to me about it. Where did you have this problem? Sounds kinda funny, the belt is going to pull on the metal no matter what angle you have it set at. Once again I'm confused!!!

The bolt will have more torque applied to it in the first configuration so logically speaking the eye-bolt solution will work to reduce the leverage. most eye bolts are soft, bent metal, however, and could open up. I would suggest a quick spot weld to keep it closed - 'cause if the techies are that picky to start with....
