Thought I would drop a line and say Hi. Brand new to the site and to the club. I have printed out the the membership application and will be sending my $$ this week. I'm happy I found a group in the northwest passionate about GTOs.

I do not own a GTO as of yet. This is a small part of the reason for joining. I'm currently looking at buying a 64 GTO that has had a frame off restoration.
I will keep you updated on how it goes.

My love for the 64 GTO stems from two things. First my father owned one..some of my first memories are riding in his Nocturne Blue GTO with light blue interior (he sold it a long time ago). Second while working at Les Schwab in downtown Seattle I had the honor of working on a 64 GTO for a gentleman who worked for CF (Consolidated Freight).

Anyway that is my story

If I had my pick of the litter I would have to say it would be a:
1964 GTO 389 Tri-Power. No Post, Pinehurst Green with Black Interior. Power Brakes, and Power Steering.

Hi thanks for the replies. As for how much do I want to spend. I guess that depends on the car. I was considering one for 35K, but backed out when the seller was acting flakey.

I've seen that car up close. Very nice! Not too keen on red, but you never know. If I'm going to spend the money I might as well get a matching # Tri-Power etc etc. I have been watching classic auto trader and hemmings for car sales.

Or a convertable.

Now that's nice... Yes, I think you can find a Very nice one that maybe needs just a little finishing for a good price, if you are willing to hunt for a while. I did just that, and narrowed down the things I "HAD" to have, and in the end still compromised, but got much more of a car that I thought I could afford, for a steal of a deal!

They are out there, just be patient, and you'll find just what your looking for!

But a little help from your friends never hurts!

Glad to have you here! Yes you should wait for "your" car. Good things come to those that wait. Then you can go out and eat some rice!

Are you only looking for one that's done or are you open to one that needs some work?

This was posted on craigslist the other day:

Thanks for the words of advice. I have been looking for about 18 months. Came close twice...third time is a charm :)

Welcome aboard Bull. Love the '64 as well. Saw a Pinehurst Green post on Ebay a week and a half ago but I think it was an automatic. They are out there though. You found the right crowd. The guys in this club know where nearly every GTO in Washington and Oregon is hidden. Between us, Ebay and Hemmings, your wait shouldn't be long.

Welcome Mr. Bull ! Yeah ! Gotta say I love the '64 too.
I would love to have a '64 set up for road racing like the old gray ghost car
that ran in SCCA back in '71 I believe.
