Not sure what I was thinking, but it seemed like a good idea at the time...
Blue car is an OHC6/auto, no option car, Fred Flintstone special.
And I really didn't want a 4 door, but it followed me home anyways! They were being sold as a pair, so I wound up with spare parts in an already assembled form. It's a 326/auto with some basic options, was surprised to find map lights and a remote mirror though.
All of this is because I had parts I wasn't using. Blue car will be home to a 428/TH400/12 bolt eventually, but probably not before I beat the six cylinder to death. It came with a loose Sprint6 intake/exhaust so I'm thinking about a plate nitrous system. :D

If your going to put a brick on the pedal, let me know when and I will come by with a few cold ones and watch it blow up.

If your going to put a brick on the pedal...Nah. I'm just going to drive it like I hate it. Can't ditch the six before I'm ready to upgrade. If I'm going to use a brick, it had better be something other than a Pontiac. Like a Honda.

My second car was a 66 Lemans ohc 6., those OHC6' are bullet proof.. even with two bad valves it ran great on the freeway... I miss that car....
You should consider tossing on the sprint package,at 215 HP you could really have a lil fun and still save on gas ....sleeeper

Please reconsider... there would be quite a few of us that would like to save that lil motor from just being beat for kicks... as it's a great little bit o history as far as Pontiacs go... and there are as of late quite a few companies out there supporting the OHC. There is even one up here in the NW in a 69 Firebird Drop Top with a supercharger putting out 411 HP!

Check with these guys if you want to see some options:

Or I'll take it and just store it till I find a car to put it in etc... just say the word! Congrats by the way... always fun to get new projects!
Brett - 67 Drop Top 455! (my first car was a Sprint 6 bird, beat most V8's!)

Hey... I have a crap load of OHC6 parts. Pretty much the whole engine with a cracked block. If anyone has a block they wanna build on, and needs ANY parts... let me know. I need to get rid of some of this stuff.

I may start picking up stuff like this (especially if people are just wanting to get rid of it) as I couldn't stand to see it go to the dump. But just for the sake of saving it at this point... eventually I'd love to build up a nice Sprint motor...
But right now, it's nothing I NEED... or have to have. But I'll let you know if any of the Cammer guys I know need anything right now?
But let me know if you need to just get rid of the stuff, and I'll pick it up before you would toss it...
Thanks - Brett!
Any updates on this Pete? Show us some pics of your '67 GTO.

I'm here.... Looking forward to getting my Sprint on the road. Ya, I think it's cool... even if it's a OHC6... ;-) And you're right, how many Sprints do you see out there...???
But for now, it's the GTO that's getting all the attention (and $$) and it should be in color real soon. 136 days, 4 hours, 20 minutes and 50 seconds left to get it ready for the show... think I can do it?
At one point, I thought the Sprint would be the car of choice to take to the Nationals but I stuck with the GTO..
Oh, notice this thread started almost 5 years ago... long before I even had an OHC car.
I wonder if he still even has the 2 Tempest cars anymore? Doesn't Pete still live in Tappen?

Doesn't Pete still live in Tappen?Nope. Look at the location listed.
You've been harassing the wrong guy.
That's mighty presumptuous of you Pete, which appears to be your nature. You had a different reply earlier. Refining?:) Did you ever stuff a 428 in that blue Tempest? Inquiring minds wanted to know.
