I know this may make some of the purists choke, but I have a '58 392 Hemi that is looking for a home. A '67 was my first purchased automobile, and I am interested in trying that body style again, but in a modified mode. Likely pro-street with an 8-71 blower. Anyone got any experience with the hemi fit...any swap kits you know of?
Thanks!

Are none of you guys hot rodders? Come on, give me some info if ya got it! Or...if you know of a site that is more into modifications as opposed to restorations, that would be appreciated as well!
Thanks anyway!

A hot rodder would put that engine in a Willy's or a early 5 window coupe. I personally would think it's a wrong choice in a GTO. Would look better in a mopar of that 60's era. It's your engine and you can do whatever you like. Don't know of a website for ya.

A common approach to do the traditional Street Rod thing. Got a blown '34 now.
Thanks for the comment. I will move on to another site.

 :) I have never seen this done but that is not to say it is impossible. I believe that you would need either an extensive fabrication and welding shop at your disposal or a large allotment of money for someone to perform the work. The biggest problem should not be space but how you are going to support the engine. Didn't the Mopar originally come with a "K" member as the support and suspension? You will probably have to either modify or make an oil pan for the engine to sit in the GM cradle. I would imagine that if you could get someone that has a frame and body (without motor) you could get all of your critical measurments for the placement of the engine and the requirements for mounts. You should also consider at this time what the trans is going to be so that you could measure and make whatever braces, mounts, and brackets that will be required.
This will definitley be a different car and will tunr some haeds with the hood up (either in disgust or appreciation). Good luck with the endeavor and if you are able to make it work it would be interesting to see.
