Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(July 2, 2005)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 4:25 pm by John Pearson, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club, at the Bison Creek in Burien.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
Mark Bennet, who has a 66 GTO (which he needs parts for) was introduced as a new member.
SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella gave the Secretaries Report, based on notes provided from last month’s meeting. Last month’s minutes were summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site.
TREASURES REPORT:
Amber Engen gave the Treasures Report, announcing the Club’s current beginning balance at $3,901.54, with drawls of $780.63, deposits of $729 and ending balance of $3,849.91 for July, 2005.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Lara Major discussed Rainer Run plans with membership, including:
- She has landed many sponsors, and identified a long list to the membership
- Still needs more volunteers (2 at Eatonville -Mather Parkway and 2 at Enumclaw – Art Gamblin)
- Lara stressed again, that the run will begin in Orting and will end at the 4 Seasons Restaurant in Enumclaw.
2. Mike Santella address the membership on latest status of the NW Legends Muscle Car Show:
- His Car Show Committee has not yet met at Issaquah to review plans on how they are going to handle different aspects of the show. They plan to me on Saturday, July 30th.
- Mike would like to have at least 10 volunteers to help manage the show activities
3. Denny Deal reported on the latest status of the Calendar Photo Shoot progress:
- So far they have shot 8 cars, plus the Cover Page.
- They have 4 remaining cars lined up, waiting for good weather, sometime in the next 2 weeks.
- Denny says after they know a little more about total expenses, the calendar price will be determined.
4. Tom Willette spoke about the Greenwood Car Show:
- It was very successful, no rain.
- 13 of our club cars were there
- While at this show, Amber signed up a new member
- Steve Pedegana won Stock 50-75
- Ted Knapp won Sponsors Choice
- Frank Nagy also won an award
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Steve Martin brought up the fact that the NW GTO Legends are not listed in the Legends Magazine, so Wally Santella will f/u with the GTOAA to clear up this discrepancy.
2. John Pearson announced a number of summer car events from his calendar of information.
3. Stefan Fafnis talked about the “Battle of Detroit Iron” at SRI on Saturday, July 16th.
4. Amber Egen spoke the membership about some of the preliminary plans for this year’s Awards Banquet:
- A motion was put to the floor and the membership decided they want the Banquet to be held on Saturday, December 3rd.
- Amber has looked into the Pyramid Ale House in Seattle. Meals are $15 - $20.
- Membership agreed that we will RSVP the Pyramid Ale House.
- Wally will check with the GALLIANO’S Cucina to determine if we have reserved a date for this year, as a possible back-up, in case we have a problem with the Pyramid Ale House.
5. No 50/50 Raffle was held, since Gary Tischer was not present for this meeting.
MEETING ADJORNED:
Meeting was adjourned at 5:47 pm by John Pearson. Next meeting will be held at the Bison Creek, on August 6th, at 4:00 PM.
