Hey. Mission raceway has club drags on July 12/13. The thing is, clubs have to preregister and prepay. I think there is a minimum # required (8 or 10 I think). Last year Dave Laviolette put 23 laps on his Laurentian ;D ;D
Who's interested?

There's a good chance I may have a bunch of time off by then. If so count me in. 8)

Rain out on my testing.
I've got 7 for the club drags. I need 8 to register. There's me, Steen, Neville, Stefan, Super Dave, Royal Botkin, and Dave Laviolette. Who will be 8? Reed Racing? Brad? Mark? C'mon its not that far!! Jim Bozony knows the way 8)

:) We have some extra room here can put up a few people, breakfast included no cost. Were about 30-40 mins to track. This will be a blast. Misson is the #1 track on the whole planet.

I have a list of 14 names going in. I included Reed-Racing, so if you can show up they will let you in!! 8)
Wow, this would be so cool and like Reed Racing, I'm seeing if I can sort out a logistical issue and maybe make it too.
So, who all is definitely headed up from Seattle area and who is driving vs. trailering ?

I will be trying again to test my racecar on Friday the 11th prior to the club drags. For those planning to attend, Mission is having their Friday night street legal drags that Friday starting at 5:30. 8)

I got some test laps on my car finally. Now remember that I have let my competition license expire, so I can't run quicker then 9.99. Also remember that testing is to find out what is wrong.
The car runs and sounds great right up to the start line. Nice big loud burn-outs. But, as soon as I stand on the throttle under load, it won't rev pas 3,000 rpm. It sounds like it is stuck on a rev limiter. If I stay on it, it cleans up after a couple seconds and then pulls like Godzilla on steroids. Guys who have run this injection set-up say that the pump is trying to force in more fuel than the engine can burn at low rpm. I already have the lean-out system, but had not hooked it up yet. A late night Friday at SD had that installed before my starter motor puked its guts.
Saturday was spent trying to get the lean-out tuned. I never did get a clean run, but at least I have an eye to where the answer is. The other solution is to launch off the trnasbrake and bypass the low rpm issues. Unfortuantely my brake was sticking. That is on the way back to the tranny shop. like I said, testing is to find the troubles. The car came home running, so I had a good weekend.
For comaprison: back when I ran 9.9 ET, the 60 foot was in the 1.3 second range, the 1/8 mile speed was around 106 MPH and the top speed was aroung 131. On Saturday with the motor hovering at 3,000 off the line before coming to life: the 60 foot was 2.0, the 1/8 speed was 113 MPH and the ET was 10.82 with me on the brakes at 1,100 feet because of the licemse issue. The potential for a lot of fast is there!!
Further updtaes as events warrant.
Hi Dan,
Oh man, it sure sound like there's tons of fun in the future and some way fast times to boot. Sorry to hear of your challenges but like you say, now is the time to find any troubles. Please keep posting on the progress, those that couldn't make it this weekend are glad to have this update.
Thanks
Bruce

Thanks Dan, I was dying to hear about your weekend! Royal Bob called with a full report Sunday night. Sounds like he had some issues resurface also. Hopefully he can find out his troubles as well as yours and you guys will be on your way again.
I am planning on making it up for the BC Old time drags on Aug. 2-3. I'll probably bring the gasser and hang out and enjoy all the vintage altereds, gassers, railjobs, etc. Hopefully we'll see some of our GTO brothers getting after it too.
