Does this work?

1972 Luxury LeMans. Owned for the last 15 years. My first car.

Has:
467 roller motor that leaks like a siv and was built by an incompetent shop.
Made it very clear to achieve 500hp. Does 12.8 at 106 equal 500hp? Motor is three years old with hardly any miles because it never runs right.
Demon 850 carb. Contact BG tech support to get yelled at.
Rebuilt TH350 with 4600 custom built converter that has 30% slippage
Converter was built per SB Chevy specs at 400ft lbs, another incompetent shop
3.70 10 bolt rear that I did myself back in 94 (only part that has stayed together)
3" inch exhaust with 2 chamber Flowmasters
NOS Cheater system, bottle filled but never used
American Auto Wire custom harness for the year of the car that makes the dash lights not work and the alternator whine. Contact tech line for worthless help.
Kenwood stereo system, brand new
Restored dash
M/T Sportsman tires and Weld Rodlite wheels
Sumped and powder coated gas tank
B&M Hammer Shifter
Front valance is currently at chrome shop
The car has a top speed of 90mph at 6500rpm so tickets shouldnt be a problem.

Bring shopping cart to haul away the rest of the parts, lots more to list.

Only $8000.00

Will use to pay off credit card debt to finance this worthless project

Willing to trade for 03/04 Mustang Cobra or LS1 car, those actually make power, right? Or possible a Honda VTEC car, those seem to be zippy fast.

I had an epiphany last night and realized how people who run shops afford big homes, SUV's with 20's on them, and eat very well every night. I have been bank rolling them.

OK - NOW I get your log-in name! When I was fresh out of school (many moons ago) I had a Nova with a similar history. A drunk did me a favour one night and wrote it off! Hope you find a better solution.

I hope you were just thinking out loud, and not seriously "thinking" of selling the car? You've come this far, and have yet to really enjoy it... or enjoy all you've spent on it...

Hang in there... it'll get better! :)

I get mine to the point where I can drive em and enjoy them, then go through a phase of collecting more parts for the next step, such as interior etc... and then go for it all at once and make a big step in the progression of the whole car... takes a while, but for the most part, I can still drive and enjoy while I'm building it... All of our cars are works in progress... as we can always find more to do to them...

Hang on to it! - Brett!

LFSADRG,
I remember seeing info on your post here about not being happy with Barry Grant. I might be able to put you in contact with a senior tech rep at BG if you're interested. Let me know if you are. BG seems to know that they have tech support problems. BG and Holley alike are not that great in this area I've heard. I've heard from other guys that have Demon carbs that they get bad or misdirected advice from BG because in many cases, the BG people have no idea how much fuel these big hungry pontiacs with ported heads really like or need.

Yes, please give me the info to a senior tech. Always good to have since I need to retune everthing at this elevation.

When I was building the engine I spoke with a tech to help me decide which carb is best and the guy ROCKED! He was a big Pontiac guy and was all pumped about my setup. We talked for about 30 minutes. Then later on, the carb just went to crap so I contacted tech again and another BG tech was not pleasant, to say the least. I spoke with a supervisor to let them know. Basically he explained that the tech must of been having a bad day. Gee, that really met my expectations. Its hit and miss with support, I guess. I ended up just rebuilding the carb myself.

OK, let me hunt around for this BG guy's contact info and I'll re-post when I locate it.
Cheers,
Bruce

Here is the info on the BG Tech people

First contact here for BG Tech named Doug Schriefer, only have email for him
dschriefer@barrygrant.com (dschriefer@barrygrant.com)

Alternative contact for another tech, Mike, tel # 706-864-8544

Doug, in particular should be pretty familiar with stroked pontiac torque monster fuel issues.
Good luck ! Let us know how it goes
