View Full Version : Rainer Run 2003
What a beautiful day it was.....Goats, Grand Prix's, Chevelle's, heck there was even a Valient.
My hat's off to Lara and Gary for making this event so great. Everything was just perfect and I don't know how the Run can be improved upon.
Thanks to all the volunteers that helped pull this event off, y'all did a spectacular job.
Oh......the prizes were cool too. ;D :D :) ;) 8)
A huge thanks to Lara Major for her tireless efforts to make this run a succes. Also we should thank all that manned checkpoints and helped with registration and all of the other things that go into this. It was a fun day, except for that part past the White River campground area where the gavel quit banging *;)

Hey gang,
*I've been asked to write a article again for this years Rainier Run. *I don't mind doing this again, in fact it's quite fun. *But this years event was great fun, but non eventful. *For me that was OK since I lost the engine in my plum mist during last years trial run. *However, not much material for me to write about. *So, Please post or email me some stories of interests stemming from this years Rainier Run. *That means you Bruce LOL, hey, since you made it back it's OK to laugh about it now and share your woes with the rest of us. *But I need more than sad sack stories, tell us how much you enjoyed it, or not, feed back feed back *you know, *give up the juicy and not so juicy info. *Not only will this give me something besides my side of the story to write about but will also possible help in making next years R/R even better, even though, thanks to Lara M that will be hard to do.
*Oh, and if you have digital pictures from the day, please email them to me at: * a.swearingen@comcast.net
I can give you more on what happened including National Park Service Ranger involvement in getting the Judge turned around in busy traffic with an engine that wouldn't run, a bit of a shower of 92 octane, and related fun. I'll get something together sometime soon. Meanwhile, I'd like to personally thank Gary Major and Chris Beck for helping me avoid getting rear ended and for sticking around while I did field repairs and keeping an eye on me after getting back underway. Thanks Guys, I really appreciate it :)
