At the last meeting there was some discussion about what to do with the "excess" funds for the club.

I had this idea when we were sitting there, but I didn't say anything due to being new and just trying to figure out what everyone else was talking about.

Let me start by saying I do accounting for a company that manufactures and distributes bobble head dolls. So, I had this idea...why not make a bobbling GTO. We are in the process of making bobbling cars for another company in LA (a '70 Challenger and Cuda). I saw a sample of the bobble cars and they are really cool.

It would be a bit complicated because it would be a business venture that the club would make money off of even after giving up 50% of the net revenues to charity. So, before I go all accounting on everyone...I just wanted to see what people would think about a bobbling GTO series.

Kewl ;D :D where do I get one? (I know it's only in the idea stage, but what a kewl idea.) Make one a '67 GTO convert (plum mist of course) and put me down for 10. Ok, it can be Tyrol blue or even black. ;)

Hey Al, you know it would have to be the most coveted GTO of all, a 69 Judge, possibly a verdoro green r/a IV car. (Ya, that's it). :P

I like the idea, and think it would sell very easily. We could sell them from this website - among other venues. I understand teh detail on the bobble cars is less than the typical die casts - but then again the bobble cars sell for far less too. The bobble cars are more of an amusing novelty, but cool just the same.

Good idea. ;D

If your club has "excess" funds, you might want to contact Brother Jim at Goat Head Ministries. He could put the money to good use.

Repent you sinners! Right on brother Jim. Bobble head doll idea is kinda of cool, but why not use the money towards the Muscle car meet or club party's ;D

Point understood Reed, but I think the idea here is to create a win/win situation. We still devote 50% to charity, we still get a 50% profit to put back in the bank for rainy days, parties, musclecar meets, etc. That way we don't run the club in a deficit.

OK, here's the first design for the bobble head GTO * ;D * ;)

I made a 'moving' version but it's to big for me to put on the site, *it's much funnier. *

I didn't want to use my car as you guys have seen it way to much already on here LOL

Oh, by the way, this nice '70 GTO is a great candidate and is included in this year's calendar photos for final choosing.
I still need more photo's! or there won't be a calendar this year.

The obvious choice would be a 65 convertible....It could be marketed as a "topless" bobblehead. What guy could turn that down?

for any of the business minded folks out here...I thought I would throw that the club could potentially net $2824.00 and the charity could potentially get the exact same amount at sell-through if we did a program like this...and that is just on the first car.

Just a thought for those that want $ for parties and shows...

i am voting for '70 Judge Convertible if it ever comes to a vote.

I'm just not getting the picture of what this will look like. A car on a base with a bobble head sticking out? Or a car mounted on a spring? or a portion of a car?

Confused as usual... :)

We could do a '67 GTO in XXX purple with the top bobbling... :)

or set the spring so that when it bobbles....it looks like it's doing a wheelie....

The bobble car has no head - the car is the head in this case. Each of the four wheels of the car is mounted to a spring, which makes the whole car bobble - like it's on giant, loose shocks.

Here's and example of a Challenger bobble car that's already a good seller. No quite sure about the dimensions, like the length of the car - Amber will have to comment on that.

Wow that Challenger looks pretty cool.

Couldn't you make one of these, starting with a regular diecast and add the "bobble" suspension somehow??

That's not how it works with this company. They are a "ceramic-like" mold, period.

Well guys - my company downsized by 25% this week and I am in that 25%, so I am not sure what we can do here. I am pretty sure we could still get it done if the club thought it was a good idea.

It will be discussed at the meeting in September. I will try to snag the challenger prototype before I leave here on Friday...that way everyone can see up close and personal...provided they attend the meeting. :)

Sorry about the downsizing, Amber. There's way too much of that going on all over. :(

Yes, sorry to hear that
Welcome to the club and to our forum. I enjoyed seeing the pic of the week of your cool Tempest in what looked like NYC or perhaps Philly.
Where was that shot taken?

Thanks guys, it is for the best, so no worries. On to better times.

The shot of my car was taken at my alma mater, University of Washington, in front of the fountain. It is a beautiful campus and has many cool places to take pics of cars if you can get into the locations...you have to be a bit stealth to get there but it can be done.

Thanks for the compliment on my car...hopefully I will get the flex plate fixed before the muscle car meet and everyone can meet it in person.
