If you don't care about the details, just want the bottom line, don't read past this first paragraph... Someone who is either a member of our club, or frequents this website has been infected with a virus, and is unwittingly sending it to many of us. I have put a filter on our NorthwestLegends.com mail server to block most of it. I am also contacting the main source of the virus email.
It's natural to assume that the virus emails are coming from NorthwestLegends.com - when in fact they are NOT. You have to dig into the invisible portion of the email header - (not the TO:'s and FROM:'s but the specific IP addresses that the message passes through in route). Then you have to lookup the owners & ISP's responsible for leasing those IP's and contact their admins. This takes a while, and only works when other people cooperate with me. Patience is in order.
Don't assume because you've become infected with an email virus that appears to have come from a NorthwestLegends.com member that they are truly at fault. 99% of email viruses come from a source that is NOT listed in the actual email.
Also, viruses that transmit through email do not commonly infect websites - such as ours, this more often is a myth. Just use a little discipline when pointing the finger, that's all.
Thanks, be careful, and check yourselves for virus infections.
