Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(March 4, 2006)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 5:10 pm by Stefan Fafnis, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club, at the Bison Creek in Burien.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
New members were introduced.
SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella gave the Secretaries Report, based on notes provided from last month’s meeting. Last month’s minutes were summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site.
TREASURES REPORT:
Amber Engen provided the Treasures Report for this meeting. Amber announced a Beginning Balance of $2897.94 and an ending balance of $3,070.48.
CAR TALK SESSION:
- Guyle Rude installed Edelbrock adjustable arms on his ride.
- David Jones is putting a 400 in his black 67 GTO.
- Frank Muscutt put in 373 rear end, HEI ignition, and is getting ready to do a paint job on his 69 GTO.
- Stefan Fafnis says he helped to stuff a transmission into Falissa’s 68 LeMans.
- Brent West experienced a cam failure, got of hold of Blake Wiland, and got a new Comp roller cam and is off and running.
- Mark Bennett is working on his 66GTO.
- Amber Engen has her GTO back from the repair shop. She still has some broken parts that need to be fixed/replaced.
- Gary Major is working on a 2002 Trans-AM convertible. Work is coming along.
- Gary Tischer talked about the Seattle Roadster Show.
- Stefan Fafnis also talked about the Seattle Roadster Show, particularly, a dark blue 64 Goat with 15,000 original miles.
OLD BUSINESS:
No old business was discussed.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Stefan Fafnis explained the 2007 Club Calendar plans:
- $5,500 to produce 500 calendars.
- The Calendar Committee will sell $4000 worth of advertising before production is authorized.
- The $1,500 that is left, will be covered by individual calendar sales, accomplished by different club members, in various activities.
- Motion was made and passed by attending membership to adopt the plan and start the process of selling advertising.
2. Wally Santella and Stefan Fafnis advised the membership that our club has dropped below the required 33% participation in the GTOAA, which is required to retain our Chapter affiliation. Those members of our club who are not current in the GTOAA dues were identified. Wally and Stefan asked that those club members that intend to renew their GTOAA membership, send their dues to Amber and she will do a mass renewal. Wally will work from home, and poll the existing GTOAA members that have not renewed their dues and together with an update of those who intend to renew and a new Club Roster, with only current members, will re-submit to John Johnson for affiliation approval.
3. Stefan Fafnis talked to the membership about volunteering and identified all of the main club events that are scheduled to occur this year.
4. Stefan Fafnis called for a motion to approve the recommendation to contribute $250 to Jose, the XXX owner, for his favorite charity. The motion was passed.
5. John Pearson talked to the membership about the latest efforts to build a NASCAR Race Track. Fliers have been sent out to different automobile related organizations to help drum up support.
6. 50/50 Raffel was held and Bob Black won $60, and Kalee won a $15 Starbucks Gift Certificate.
MEETING ADJORNED:
Meeting was adjourned at 6:05 pm, by Stefan Fafnis. Next meeting will be held at the Bison Creek, at 5:00pm, on Saturday, April 1st.
