Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(April 1, 2006)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 5:10 pm by Stefan Fafnis, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club, at the Bison Creek in Burien.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
Mark Carr was introduced as a new guest.
SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella gave the Secretaries Report, based on notes provided from last month’s meeting. Last month’s minutes were summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site.
TREASURES REPORT:
Amber Engen provided the Treasures Report for this meeting. Amber announced a Beginning Balance of $3,070.48 and an ending balance of $2,335.34.
CAR TALK SESSION:
- Tom Willett told the membership about his new 2005 getting rear-ended. Damaged has been fixed.
- Tim Moe says he had 6 Goats in his yard:
• Says he got rid of his 68 body
• Says his friend has a 69 Le Mans that is all rusted out
• Tim says he is now down to 8 Pontiacs
- Gary Major has a chromer who is coming on line, and he will be able to do different chrome work on our Pontiacs. He will have samples soon. He will also be able to do anodizing.
- Stefan Fafnis sold his 70 GTO.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Denny and Wally talked to the membership about the Spring Car Clinic, which has been scheduled for April 29th, at his SASCO warehouse, in Woodinville. Directions are posted on the NW GTO Legends Website. Wrenching, tune-ups, and a Bar-B-Q are included. Doors open at 9:30 am.
2. Mike Santella and Denny Deal gave the membership an update on the Club Calendar progress.
3. John Pearson thanked everyone who entered a car into the Seattle Roadster Show.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Moon Mullan will be hosting “Moon at the Beach”, near the Ferndale POCI event, on July 22nd. Everyone is invited.
2. Denny Deal talked to the membership about helping the Kirkland Pontiac Dealership, who is one of the major sponsors of our Calendar, with a June “Show & Shine”. They would like the members to bring their GTO’s to help them with 2006 GTO sales efforts.
3. Stefan Fafnis talked about Gary Tischer’s brother, who will be putting on a car show.
4. Stefan Fafnis talked to the membership about this year’s Rainer Run, which will be held on July 29th. This year it will start in Enumclaw and end in Orting, at the park. Stefan asked someone to help Lara by securing volunteers. There are still some locations in the run that need people to man them.
5. Tom Willett talked to the membership about this year’s Greenwood Car Show, which is schedule for June 24th. At this time, we have 18 club member cars that have signed up to enter. Tom says people should show up at the Woodlan Park Zoo parking lot at 6:00. Tom says to check with him for more information.
6. Stefan reminded the membership about this years Muscle Car Show, which will be held on August 13th, at the XXX , in Issaquah.
50/50 Raffel – was held and Janis Babcock won $39.
MEETING ADJORNED:
Meeting was adjourned at 6:10 pm, by Stefan Fafnis. Next meeting will be held at the Bison Creek, at 4:00pm, on Saturday, May 6th.
