HELP!!!!! me !!!! 70 gto oil pan problem

Hello ,I recently purchased a orbit orange 70 gto with a 400 motor out of a 67 gto "so I was told".The numbers on both the motor and the car check out but I have this horrible problem .The dip stick has been broken off just after the full line .I tried putting the dip stick out of my 69 lemans in it tocheck it as the car was running and it hit something moving in the pan ? Im not a mechanic by any means *but I love pontiacs I own 3 a 68 and 69 lemans and this new 70 gto .I put 5 qts of oil in it and it doesnt smoke but I have no idea how to check the oil or keep it filled .Also if any one can help me find a console for this car *;) .http://server23.hypermart.net/stenklyft/gtolema2.JPGby the way I live in Oregon and have family in washingtonhttp://server23.hypermart.net/stenklyft/gto6.JPG
