Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(May 6, 2006)


MEETING OPENED:

Meeting called to order at 5:10 pm by Stefan Fafnis, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club, at the Bison Creek in Burien.

GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
Bob Bakoski was introduced and has a 1972 Le Mans.
Troy Green was introduced and has a 1964 GTO convertible.

Also, at tonight's meeting David and Michael Peterson became new members of our
Northwest Legends GTO Club. David and Michael are big classic GTO enthusiasts, but don't possess a car right now. They are thinking of looking for a 1966. Any help we can give them would be appreciated.

SECRETARIES REPORT:

Wally Santella gave the Secretaries Report, based on notes provided from last month’s meeting. Last month’s minutes were summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site.

TREASURES REPORT:

Amber Engen provided the Treasures Report for this meeting. Amber announced a Beginning Balance of $2,335.34 and an ending balance of $2,832.00.

CAR TALK SESSION:

- Mike Buzzard painted his 1964.
- Richard Davis needs a trunk lid for his 68 GTO
- Mark Bennett talked about stripping his 66 with baking soda
- John Pearson brought Evaporust product to demonstrate its ability to dissolve rust. While at the meeting he dipped some rusty parts into the liquid mixture to show its ability.
- Gary Tischer talked about working on his car, changing his jets to go richer.
- Stefan Fafnis relayed his story with the membership about working on his 64, when a fire developed, while they were using a plasma cutter. They got the fire out, but had to replace a qtr panel that was damaged.
- Someone mentioned that JIM’s Wrecking in Poulsbo just picked up a bunch of Pontiacs.

OLD BUSINESS:

1. Denny Deal passed around sign-up sheet for Kirkland Pontiac “Show & Shine”. Stefan and Denny stressed our need as a club to support them in this effort, because of their large donation to our Club Calendar effort.

2. Denny Deal gave the membership an update on the Club Calendar progress. He expects production to start next week.

3. Gary Tischer talked about his brother’s car show, which will be held in Skamokawa, WA on June 3rd.

4. Tom Willett reminded the membership again about the forthcoming Greenwood Car Show on June 24th. He passed around more sign-up forms.

5. Mike Santella informed the membership that all sponsor money has been collected for our NW GTO Legends Muscle Car Show, which will be held on Sunday, August 13th, this year.

6. Stefan Fafnis reminded the membership of the Moon Mullen Crab Feed, which will be held in Ferndale, WA on July 22nd , after the Ferndale POCI event. Everyone is invited.


NEW BUSINESS:

1. Stefan Fafnis showed off a number of “chromed” examples of parts that were done by Gary Majors’s chrome plating guy. If you need chrome plating or aluminum anodizing, see Gary Major.


50/50 Raffle – was held and ???????? won $50.

MEETING ADJORNED:
Meeting was adjourned at 5:15 pm, by Stefan Fafnis. Next meeting will be held at the Bison Creek, at 4:00pm, on Saturday, June 3rd.
