Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(September 2nd, 2006)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 4:10 pm by Wally Santella, Secretary, standing in for Stefan Fafnis, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club, at the Bison Creek in Burien.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
Two (2) new guests were introduced. John Bozony Sr. and Judi Mauhl.
SECRETARIES REPORT:
Mike Santella gave the July Secretaries Report. Last month’s minutes were summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site.
TREASURES REPORT:
Amber Engen provided the Treasures Report, announcing a Beginning Balance of $3,595 and an ending balance of $5,869.27
CAR TALK SESSION:
- Jim Bozony has his ’70 convertible back together and on the road. Everything from the bell housing back on his 4sp is basically brand new. Bill Erickson in West Seattle did the work and Jim highly recommends him.
- Mike Buzzard added disc breaks from Stainless Steel Brake Co. Mike says the stuff is good quality but the service is terrible. Many maid in China tags and some poor fit issues as well.
- Mark Bilyeu’s 65 Lemans hardtop is no longer a secret. Plans are in the works for a 600+ HP fuel injected tri-power and possibly a GTO clone, but no color combos have been decided.
- Larry Ferrand brought his ’66 out for the first time this year and plans to have Gary Major rebuild his original 389 and Tag Engineering this fall.
OLD BUSINESS:
- Amber discussed the 2006 Christmas party. The big room at the Pyramid Brewery has been booked for December 2nd. The club meeting will be held first, followed by the club gift exchange. Plenty of room for all of the club and their families. Ann Santella and Amber will put a menu together for the club to decide on soon.
- The club discussed having one of several guests up for the Christmas Party. Names included Jim Wangers, Milt Schornac, Bob Alexander and Pete McCarthy, but nothing was decided on. Mike Buzzard will be contacting Bob Alexander and Gary Major will be contacting Pete McCarthy to inquire on availability and report back on the October meeting.
- Mike Santella gave a recap on this Years Muscle Car Meet. 171 registered cars this year, which was an all time record. Mike singled out all of the volunteers who helped make this year’s event a success.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Gary Major discussed the 2nd annual Milton Car Show and burnout contest, to be held on September 10th. Gary handed out several fliers detailing the event.
- Mike Santella discussed looking into having some signage done up for next year’s Muscle Car Meet to help direct folks and clear up some confusion concerning the flow of next year’s meet. The signage can be generic enough to be used at all Northwest Legends functions. Mike will look into pricing and report back soon.
50/50 Raffle: No 50-50 raffle because Gary was at the Husky Game.
MEETING ADJORNED:
Meeting was adjourned at 5:05 PM, by Wally Santella. Next meeting will be held at the Bison Creek, at 4:00pm, on Saturday, October 7th.
