Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(October 7th, 2006)

MEETING OPENED:

Meeting called to order at 4:15 pm by Stefan Fafnis, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club, at the Bison Creek in Burien.

GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
Aaron, a special guest GTO owner from Australia was introduced. Aaron is on a temporary 2 month stay, while he completes some work at Boeing. Also, Ken Mingeaud introduced his son to the membership.

SECRETARIES REPORT:

Wally Santella gave the September Secretaries Report. Last month’s minutes were summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site.

TREASURES REPORT:

Amber Engen provided the Treasures Report, announcing a Beginning Balance of $5,869.27 and an ending balance of $6,215.48.

CAR TALK SESSION:

-Wally Santella announced the availability (once again) of the 1964 sport wood wheel cap emblem (red/white/gray plastic). Previous reproduction ended 3 years ago and they have been fetching up to $500 on eBay. They are not considered exact reproductions of the originals (according to Curtis Knauss of THE LEGEND), but quality and fit are very good. Part number is RP1578 and the price is $25 at Performance Years (1-800 542-PART, or www.performanceyears.com)

- Gary Tischer was returning from “Hot August Nights”, about 60 miles north of Alteris, and blew the engine on his 64. About an hour later, a guy with a trailer 0came by and offered to help. Turns out, he was going to Seattle, with a quick stop at families place, and so he offered to tow Gary’s 65 home for just the cost of the gas.

- Mike Buzard had some problems at BOP and ended up installing Petronix Ignition System in his Goat.

- Mark Bennett took his truck to Gary Tischer’s Transmission Shop on Monday, and Gary had it ready to pick up on Thursday.

OLD BUSINESS:

- Gary Majors says Pete McCarthy cannot make our 2006 Xmas Party. Gary spoke to Jim Wangers and he would like to come to our Xmas Party again. Jim is also interested in coming up next summer and going around the Mount Rainer Run.

- Mike Buzard spoke to John Alexander, but John said he could not make it to our Xmas Party either.

-Wally Santella explained the process of when we switch our Club Meeting from 4:00pm to 5:00pm on November 4th (Daylight Saving Time ends on the last Sunday in October) and from 5:00pm back to 4:00pm on May 5th, 2007 (Daylight Saving Time begins on the first Sunday in April).

- Stefan Fafnis ran twice in 6 hours at the Legends Drags that were held in Shelton. A KING 5 camera man mounted his equipment on Stefan’s car, during his 2nd run. Film will be shown on Evening Magazine sometime in November. Stefan will get specific info on when.

- Tom Willett attended the BOP this year and reported on good representation by our Legends members.

NEW BUSINESS:

- Amber Engen suggested that we re-consider the need to purchase a high speed laser color printer for the club, to reduce the overall cost of printing the club Newsletter and to make the process more manageable. This need was discussed with the membership also by the Board after the meeting. Wally Santella will renew the analysis that was previously conducted by Lonnie Santella and Brad Barrie 2 years ago. Wally will report to the membership and recommend 2-3 candidate printers and Board will make purchase decision at next meeting. Printer will be purchased and will remain with club member who is primarily responsible for producing and publishing the Club Newsletter.

50/50 Raffle: 50-50 raffle was held and Pam Davis won.

MEETING ADJORNED:
