Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(November 4th, 2006)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 5:10 pm by Stefan Fafnis, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club, at the Bison Creek in Burien.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
Doug, a special guest was acknowledged by the membership.
SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella gave the September Secretaries Report. Last month’s minutes were summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site.
TREASURES REPORT:
Amber Engen provided the Treasures Report, announcing a Beginning Balance of $6,215.48 and an ending balance of $6,564.53
CAR TALK SESSION:
- Steve Martin says he is looking for a right front fender for 1970 Judge.
- Gary Tischer is in the process of rebuilding his 1964 engine.
- Gary Majors is involved in 2 engine projects. One is for Al Swearinger, where they are putting a stroker kit into a 400. The other is for Larry Ferrand, who wants to retain the 389 stock appearance, while they do some trick work on the heads. They discovered that the block was cracked, and will need to find a replacement with 66 build date. John Pearson says he knows a welder – John, who can stitch weld the cracked block.
- Tom Willett is going to buy an upholstery kit from Legendary Auto Interiors Ltd. With the $100 he won at the Rainier Run.
OLD BUSINESS:
- Wally Santella presented the color printer analysis that he conducted as part of the process to select a printer for the club’s use. Wally recommend the HP 3800ND and the Board approved the purchase. Wally will order the printer through Rick Rosen’s Olympic Office Supply firm and Rick will throw in free shipping, delivery and a free case of paper and later on, the Club will be able to purchase printer consumables from Olympic at cost. The printer will be put into the possession of the Club member that currently has the responsibility for publishing the Legend News Letter. Currently, that is Amber Engen.
- Mike Buzard spoke to John Alexander, but John said he could not make it to our Xmas Party either.
- Amber Engen talked about the Club’s Xmas Banquet plans and urged those who haven’t to get their reservations in.
- Amber and Denny Deal addressed the membership about the 2008 Calendar plans and the need to add 4 new volunteers, including a new Chairman to the committee.
- Gary Major brought parts for the membership to consider purchasing for their cars.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Valerie Willett suggested that we send a letter to other car club members, inviting them to attend next years Rainer Run.
- Nominations were made for 2008 Club Officers:
(1) John Pearson nominated Tom Willett for President but Tom declined.
(2) Tom Willett nominated Brandon Warren for VP
(3) Wally Santella was nominated for Secretary
(4) Amber Engen was nominated for Treasurer
(5) Nominations were made again for Wally Santella for President, but Wally declined, saying he would only consider if no one else ran.
All members attending this meeting were urged on consider running for an officer position.
50/50 Raffle: 50-50 raffle was held and Bob Weiss won $32.00.
MEETING ADJORNED:
Meeting was adjourned at 6:10 PM, by Stefan Fafnis. Next meeting will be held at the Pyramid Ale House just prior to the Award Banquet, on Saturday, December 2nd.
