Fantastic, Jim! Congratulations ;D ;D ;D

The car is AWESOME - can't wait to see it in person. So I'm sure you drove it while you were ou there - how did it drive?

You must be on pins and needles now brother!

Thanks Lonnie. It's a great driver and very solid. It needs a few minor cosmetic items fixed but is a very sweet ride. Here's some more pictures

OK, the day you have all waited for has arrived!! ;D As of friday morning I am the proud new owner of a 70 GTO Convertible WITH a 4-speed. 5000 miles and 36 hours later the deal is done. I took the red eye out thursday night to Maryland. Friday morning got picked up by the owner for an agonizing 10 minute ride to see the car. It was love at first sight. By 11:00 am it was mine. I took tons of pictures and the car should be here in about 3-4 weeks. I swore John to secrecy that's why he didn't say anything specific at Bison Creek on Wednesday. Here's some pictures to look at. The car is really dusty and needs to be washed. It's been a long time waiting but I am looking forward to next spring and bangin' gears!!

Well you owe him a beer & I owe you a beer for waiting out for such a striking GTO!
Man as REED RACING says, what a combo!
I hope & hope that it's dry out for the November club meeting, man I can't wait to see that GTO.
CONGRATULATIONS JIM!

Hey Jim this is Big Daddy in Ridgecrest. *What do we do now? We were counting on that booty to pay our first year in the nursing home. *I guess we could get accustomed to sleeping on red leather! *The garage center post definitely has to go! *Outstanding purchase! *

Congrats Jim, That car looks beautiful! You held out, and you got what you were after. P.S. - Red on Black with a White top, Man your car has to be The Legends Adition car, with club colors! Those two '70 ragtops will look great side by side. Yet another great adition to the Northwest Legends family!

Hey Jim, great car. What's the latest on delivery? Will it be here in time for the next meeting?

The car will not be here for a couple of more weeks. They are supposed to pick it up later this week. We have a private party gig this saturday so we wouldn't be able to make the meeting anyway.

Bummer that it will be a while before we get to check it out, oh well that's the way it is with cross country acquisitions I guess. We're all still looking forward to the unveiling and understand that it may be a while. We'll toast one to you and your newly acquired ride even though you won't be at the meeting this Saturday ;)

Oh yeah ...forgot to ask
Is Big Daddy really your pop or is it the pitchfork toting, redskinned alter ego of the angel that sights on your right shoulder? ::)

Yeah, Big Daddy is the Dad.

Update, the Goat finally made its way onto the transporter. ;D Even that was a little emergency. It was initially set up for Monday, Nov. 4th. But, John, the old owner had to go out of town suddenly that day. I didn't find out about this until Friday night. So, it was a mad scramble to either change the pickup day or find someone else to be there to get the car to the truck. The guy lives in a private community and the truck wouldn't be able to get in there. So the car would have to be driven out about a mile to meet the truck. His wife can't drive a stick, so she's out. I couldn't change the pickup date unless I wanted to wait another 3 weeks. So, John found a trusted and reliable person to drive it to the truck on Monday. Expected delivery is sometime this coming weekend. ;D Just in time for the rain ::)

Well maybe the GTO gods will bless us and shed a little sun light this weekend so Jim can enjoy the car.
