It is with priviledge to announce the arrival of MR. JIM WANGERS to the NW GTO LEGENDS Christmas Party weekend!
We are creating an entire weeknd of fun surrounding the arrival of MR. WANGERS, the GODFATHER of the GTO to the Seattle area on December 14th & 15th !!!!!!!

Jim will be arriving to Sea-Tac airport on Saturday December 14th at approx. 11am.
We will be taking Jim on fellow NW LEGENDS garage tours throughout the day, come one, come all, the purpose is to spend quality time with Jim in our own back yard.

The details & itinerary will be sent out as a Christmas supplement to all LEGENDS members homes within the next week, complete with directions to all Garage Tours.

Basically the tentative Itinerary will go like this:

(again, this is an all member welcomed & encouraged weekend, come on out & tour members shops with Jim)

SATURDAY-------
11:30am-Jim arrives Sea-Tac
1-2:30pm- Jim will be arriving Wally Santella's shop/garage in Sea-Tac for a welcoming & tour of his shop.
3-5:00pm- Jim arrives at the shop/garage of Bob "Royal Botkin" in Redmond for a garage tour.

5pm- Jim arrives at FREDDIES'S CLUB in Fife for the 2002 NW GTO LEGENDS annual CHRISTMAS BASH!!!!!

This is gonna be cool.
Having the opportunity to spend a weekend with JIM WANGERS, we can only hope the weather will be dry for this & Jim can get a chance to ride in some of our club's GTO's!
The goal, weather permitting, would be a caravan of GTO's from shop to shop.

For those members from out of town, or wanting to stay overnight during the CHRISTMAS PARTY weekend, Bernadette Boutte has arranged a block of hotel rooms at the RAMADA INN next to FREDDIE'S CLUB.
Jim will be staying there as well.
You need to book your room:
The rate for the night of 12/14 & 12/15 will be $51.00 plus tax for a double per night.

Sounds great!
Looks like I'll have to have the plum mist with my new SDP engine and Hurst Wheels ready for the days. Oh by the way, should I be home on Sunday my garage is on the way, well sorta, as you come down 16 to Tacoma I'm just around the corner in Lakewood, about 10-15 minutes to Freddies.
Here's a sample, not much to look at, but it's mine ;)

Just wondering. Is Mr. Wangers going to be available for autographs? Not for me, but for this friend of mine...I really would like to make it down to Bison Creek and hang out with you guys but the band is playing a private party that night. So, we'll have to wait until sunday. See you then...

Wow,
Sounds like a fun time. If only I had a couple more GTO's in my garage and had it all cleaned up I'd open mine up as well. Look at the picture below. I do have a couple Firebirds in my Garage though. The brown '69 Convertible has a new rebuilt 428 that runs very strong. The orbit orange '69 Lemans in the background belongs to my brother, Barry Crenshaw (also a club member). We're building a 428 for it as well. It should be done in time for Tiger Run next summer. The blue '72 Firebird in the foreground is club member Will Baker's car with. He had just installed his new race-ready 440 and was getting it dialed in.
I had to park my '69 GTO outside during this time. :'(

Hey Don, compared to my garage, that IS all cleaned up. If you look real closely, you can probably find my 64 somewhere under all tha parts. ;D Great looking BIRD you have there. I'm sure you know this but I'll tell you anyway. I think AMES has the 428 repro rocker emblems last I checked. The guy had grabbed the 428 badges and the engine before I got the car, BUMMER! Anyway, good luck with the search, hope to see you at the Bison creek bash on the 14th.
