A while back I asked for recommendations for Dave Bisschop & SD Performance. Everyone who replied gave him a ringing endorsement.

I just thought I'd let everyone know, based on my experience, that those endorsements are well-deserved. I got a set of Edelbrock heads through Dave. I paid for heads that flow 300 cfm @ 28" & .700" lift. What I got are heads that flow a hair under 300 cfm @ 28" & .500" lift! The heads flow almost 320 cfm @ 28" & .700 lift.

Thanks for leading me to a great shop guys! I ended up getting a lot of other stuff too though. So my wallet's lighter but I'll have grin on my face this spring. ;D

Hi GPMod Man,
That's awesome, with those flow rates, those should be some serious performing heads. Make plans to come to an upcoming club meeting and DEFINITELY set aside Tiger Run 2003 on your calendar. Bring it on !!!! ;)

Mr GPMod,
Tell us about your car! Grand Prix?
We love to learn about all Pontiacs, and if edelbrock heads are about to be seen under the hood, even better :)
If you have pics, please post 'em too

You can take a look at my Grand Prix at the following URL:

http://www.69grandprix.com/

I bought it from a friend who had it since about 1979. I haven't done anything to it since I got it about 2 years ago. I hadn't owned a musclecar of any kind since my 69 GTO back in '79 / '80. But the bug bit me and I'm building another engine for it--a 428 block bored .065" over, with an Eagle crank with a 4.25 stroke, Eagle 6.8" rods, Ross dished pistons, the Edelbrock heads, Torker II manifold, et cet. Should be fun!

Hey, I thought my GP was kinda mild. After all, there's rumours a club member is building an IA engine. With the upcoming mods I thought I might just make normal!

Kewell site!
I like the engine revving best. I had Dave port a set of #62 428 Heads for me last summer and I put them on my '69 GTO last week. They really increased the power a lot. Dave does awesome work. Nice GP.

Here's an update on my engine & what Dave Bisschop & SD Performance do for customers. I discovered while assembling my engine that the crankshaft (which I bought from Dave) counterweight hits the oil drive shaft when both are rotated. Dave asked me to measure the counterweight width and it's 1.380", as opposed to the 1.25 or so of a stock crank. Though Dave's used many Eagle cranks with few problems, this one isn't up to snuff. So, the crank's got to get machined or replaced.

Dave is taking care of the whole thing--including shipping--whether Eagle compensates him or not. Per my earlier post, Dave & SD Performance deserve a good reputation.

It's a true fact, the customer service at SD is fantastic. Dave continues to build a quality high performance product with a super reputation for taking care of the customer after the product leaves the shop. Too bad for the crank problem, but I'm sure you will be really happy with the engine when it's in and running. PONTIAC RULES! ;D
