Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(August 4th, 2007)


MEETING OPENED:

Meeting called to order at 4:15 pm by Stefan Fafnis, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club, at the Bison Creek in Burien, WA.

GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
New members and guests included Bob Kothenbeutel, Tom Palermo and Mack Willett, Tom Willett’s brother.

SECRETARIES REPORT:

Wally Santella gave the July 07 Secretaries Report. Last month’s minutes were summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site.

TREASURES REPORT:

Amber Engen gave Treasures Report, announcing a Beginning Balance of $5,484.06 and an Ending Balance of $5,592.52

CAR TALK SESSION:

(1) Tim Moe cleared out his garage and drove his GTO to the meeting. All spring, Tim has been working on the GTO and learning his wire-feed welder.
(2) Steve Martin relayed the story of how he bought back his original 76 Firebird, after the lady who had originally bought it from Steve and had it for 18 years, left a phone call message for Steve.
(3) Gary Major’s 65 is in finished primer and headed for the paint shop next week.
(4) Mike Buzard shared his plans to fuel-inject his 64.
(5) Brent West explained that he had to have his engine rebuilt again, because he screwed up his rods.
(6) After a lot of work, Bruce Morrison has gotten his GTO back on the road again.
(7) Tom Willett’s 64 A-arm bushings fell out, but he got good repair service from Highline Frame & Alignment.


OLD BUSINESS:

- RAINIER RUN: Lara Major reported that although this years Rainier Run was a smaller group the last year, a great time was had by all. Lara said we had profits of $258.00. 1st place winners were Tom & Patty Dinuzzo, 2nd place went to Al Framler and 3rd place went to Stefan Fafnis.

- MUSCLE CAR MEET: Mike Santella reported that he has secured all sponsor checks except for Gary Tischer. Mike reminded the attendees that he still needs a few more volunteers. Mike explained that he has purchased new signage will be used, along with Ted Knapp’s efforts to help channel and direct the traffic of participating cars into the display area.


NEW BUSINESS:

- Gary Major suggested to the membership that he has been in touch with Jim Wangers and Jim is interested in coming up to Seattle again, for a Garage Tour and our annual Xmas Party. More discussions will follow on this subject.

- Amber Engen has completed a significant amount of paperwork and has re-registered our Club as a Non-Profit organization and is filing State Tax Returns for 2004, 2005, and 2006, to complete this process.

50/50 Raffle: No 50-50 raffle was held.

MEETING ADJORNED:
Meeting was adjourned at 5:40 PM, by Stefan Fafnis. Next meeting will be held at the Bison Creek in Burien, on Saturday, September 1st, at 4:00 PM.
