Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(September 1, 2007)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 4:20 pm by Stefan Fafnis, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club, at the Bison Creek in Burien, WA.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
There were no new members and guests at this meeting.
SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella read the August 07 Secretaries Report. Last month’s minutes were summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site.
TREASURES REPORT:
Amber Engen gave Treasures Report, announcing a Beginning Balance of $5,592.52 and an Ending Balance of $6,398.94.
CAR TALK SESSION:
(1) Brent West repaired his engine, put it back in the car, ran it, and then beat up the bearings again. At this time, he not sure what’s causing this.
(2) Wally Santella and Mark Bilyeu announced that they will start restoring their 64 & 65 GTOs in September.
(3) Gary Major’s 64 was painted in Orting, by “Todd”, and he has it back.
(4) Larry Ferrand from Bremerton sent his engine to Dave Bishop last year and just got it back last week. He took the body of his goat off the frame, wire brushed everything, and put in new bushings in the front-end. He fired up his engine and managed to get 402 horses out of 494 foot pounds of torque.
(5) Tom Palermo went to a dyno session with his black 04 and pulled 525 horses out of 588 foot pounds, at the rear wheels.
(6) Mike Buzzard reports that he now has a tubular rear frame.
OLD BUSINESS:
- John Pearson made a motion to the membership that we bring Jim Wangers up to Seattle again this year, for our Christmas Celebration, and that the Club pay his ticket. The membership passed John’s motion. Jim will stay at Lara and Gary Major’s house, and we will take him on a garage tour, and to Bremerton.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Stefan Fafnis reminded the membership that this years Xmas Party will be held on December 1st, and as usual, will be combined with our December meeting, and Awards Banquet. Ann Santella suggested the membership start looking at possible sites for this affair and make recommendations at October’s meeting.
- Stefan Fafnis announced to the membership that our Club has received the Bronz Award from the GTOAA, for our chapter/GTOAA membership ratio.
50/50 Raffle: Our 50/50 raffle was held, Janice Babcock won, $22 and $22 went to the Club.
MEETING ADJORNED:
Meeting was adjourned at 5:40 PM, by Stefan Fafnis. Next meeting will be held at the Bison Creek in Burien, on Saturday, October 6th, at 4:00 PM.
