My '70 Goat has the factory power front disk brakes.
I hereby predict that I will need to stop faster soon ;)
I've heard about various caliper, pad and rotor upgrades that supposedly increase stopping power. Anybody have any experience with making their factory front disc brakes perform better? I have scoped out posts on PY and elsewhere about a dual piston caliper, including one from Howe that's originally designed for circle track applications but supposedly can easily be made to work on A bodies. I am pretty set on sticking with my stock spindles.

I'm also adding rear disc brakes (which I believe I have mostly figured out...at least in the creative attic of my mind ;))
I suspect, though, that I may benefit from a different master cylinder, one with, at the very least, more capacity to "feed"
the rears.
Any suggestions are mighty appreciated.

Thanks!

I was talking with Blake about this a couple of weeks ago.

He's got a mostly stock front disk upgrade that he's kitted together. He also has a rear brake conversion from Baer.

I saw on Horespower TV the other day an upgrade from Baer that uses the stock spindles and adapts them out to fit a larger rotor on a 71 Chevelle.

A set of vented or slotted rotors will disapate heat better. I hear the arospace brake set up is pretty trick and light weight. Royal Botking has it on his gold 66.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sheesh, that Baer System is nice.
