Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(March 1st, 2008)

MEETING OPENED:

Meeting called to order at 5:10 pm by Mitch Bleitz, VP of the Northwest GTO Legends, substituting for Brandon Warren, (Brandon and Carolyn were away on vacation), at Bison Creek, in Burien, WA.

GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
Guests and new members were recognized, including “Mike Caldwell” who has a 2006 Brazen Orange GTO, and “Mike Redick” who has a 04 GTO.

SECRETARIES REPORT:

Wally Santella read the February 2nd Secretaries Report. Last month’s minutes will be summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site by Wally.

TREASURES REPORT:

Wally Santella announced Amber Engen’s decision to resign her position as the Club Treasurer and to leave active participation in the Club for now. The Club Officers and the membership recognized the efforts and contributions that Amber has made to the Club over the last 3 years and looks forward to Amber’s return in the future. Wally announced the Board’s decision to accept Mike Santella’s offer to volunteer to serve out Amber’s 2008 term as the interim Treasurer. Mike Santella was introduced and he gave the Treasures Report, announcing a beginning balance of $5,434.81 and an ending balance of $5,747.32.

CAR TALK SESSION:

- Mike Buzard explained his plans to install a “shaker scoop” from a Trans AM on his 64 GTO.

- Wally Santella talked about his trip up north with Mark Bilyeu to bring back parts for Wally’s 64 and Mark’s 65. They were able to score a 64/65 posi rear-end, 64/65 power steering pump and gear box, backup lights, 64/65 4-speed console, good 65 hood with original paint, 65 stainless rocker moldings, 2-speed wiper motor w/washer, 65 rear tail panel modeling, 65 grills and header panels, and 65 steering column.

- Gary Major mentioned to the membership that Dave Bishop will be getting his own engine dyno.

- Mitch Bleitz talked about the silver coating called “armor coat” that is put on new Holley Street Avenger carburetors that dissolves from the gas and that you can return it to the manufacture for a replacement.

- Mike Buzzard talked about a set of Koni shocks on his car, that have been experiencing some leakage. Mike says Pontiac says to not worry about this.

- Gary Major says he now has ACI seat cushions available. Gary also showed a break-in oil to the membership called EOS for non-roller engines, for both break-in and normal use.

- Jack Borell had his clutch and pressure plate and throw-out bearing replaced and his transmission worked on. Also had a new master cylinder installed.

- Stephen Fafnis is looking for a cheap “A” body.


OLD BUSINESS:

- Wally Santella reported to the membership that he had completed the 2008 Chapter Survey and sent it in, along with the Officer GTOAA Membership renewal to John Johnson of the GTOAA.


NEW BUSINESS:

- Gary Major informed the membership that Bob Bukoski had heart by-pass surgery and is recuperating at home. The membership agreed with Gary’s suggestion that we send a card and some flowers to Bob, wishing him a speeding recovery, so that he can pick up his newly refurbished GTO.

- Denny Deal announced to the membership that he will again host the Spring Car Clinic at his SASCO warehouse in Bothell. It will be held on May 10th.

- Denny Deal also talked about our Club members participating in a show called Everett Cruzin Colby, which is held on Monday, May 26th, on Memorial Day, after Tiger Run. Denny will bring application forms.

- Denny Deal suggested to the membership that he would like to see new club items, including T-shirts, hats, and sweatshirts. Bob Botkin will talk to Brad Barrie about it.

- Patrick Kinsella talked to the membership about the Legends Car Show in Kirkland, which is held on July 20th. Patrick will bring in applications. Patrick also suggested that the membership consider participating in the Eagles Club, non-profit, 4th of July Parade.

50/50 Raffle: A 50/50 raffle was held and Pat Borell won $28.
