Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(April 6th, 2008)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 5:15 pm by Brandon Warren, President of the Northwest GTO Legends, at Bison Creek, in Burien, WA.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
No Guests and/or new members were recognized.
SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella read the March 1st Secretaries Report. Last month’s minutes will be summarized, and details posted on the Club’s web site by Wally.
TREASURES REPORT:
Mike Santella gave the Treasures Report, announcing a beginning balance of $5,163.00 and an ending balance of $5,143.94. Mike also updated membership on Club mail received for the month of March, including a flyer announcing a Norwalk, Ohio Car Cruz.
CAR TALK SESSION:
- Gary Tischer talked about the Portland Swap Meet where he ran into Stefan Fafnis. He also mentioned that he purchased a new bumper for his 64.
- Brandon Warren talked about using Valvoline Racing Oil as an alternative to EOS.
- Ted Knapp updated the membership that he has purchased a covered trailer for transporting his 64.
- Bruce Dyke talked about his 64, which he has been in the process of restoring. He asked the membership if anyone would be interested in volunteering to come to his home and help him put his car back together because he has a bad back. Bruce gave out his phone number of (425) 672-4587 for anyone interested in coming over to call him.
- Mike Santella talked about the 1969 GTO (3-owner) that he recently purchased.
OLD BUSINESS:
- Brent West talked about the car show that will be held at Anthony’s Home Port in Seattle on Father’s Day. Brent encouraged members to attend on June 17th, and to call him if anyone is interested in going.
- Wally Santella updated the membership on his efforts to get member dues paid up and to get everyone synced up to January 1st, 2009 GTOAA/Northwest GTO Legends membership dues renewal.
- Denny Deal reminded the membership of the Spring Car Clinic which is schedule for May 10th, at his SASCO Warehouse in Bothell.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Mike Santella talked to the membership about Lance Lambert and his coverage of our Muscle Car Show in August. Mike says Lance would charge about $1000.00 to cover the show and film our members and their cars. Mike says he will get more details and report back to the membership at next meeting.
- Mike Santella also introduced some new clothing materials for the Club. Mike showed new jackets and sale price list for stitching logos, names, etc on jackets and other apparel by TWO HARPS Custom Digitizing and Embroidery, which is owned by Irv and Nancy Harp. Gary Tischer added that he used their services on his floor mats and that he was pleased with the results, saying that they do good work. TWO HARPS has our Club logos and Mike will come back with more details at our next Club meeting.
- Mike Santella handed out new Northwest Muscle Car Show fliers in black & white. We are working on color version. Mike once again invited other interested people to get involve in this years show.
- Brent West introduce new garage shop floor tile product and provided business cards for Howard Bellows the dealer for Garage Makeover & Remodel, LLC.
- John Pearson mentioned to the membership that his boss is looking for a 69 hardtop.
- Gary Majors introduced Bob Bukoski, who recently returned from heart by-pass surgery, and Bob was welcomed back by all the members in attendance.
50/50 Raffle: No 50/50 raffle was held.
