There's an interesting discussion going on about the Nationals this year on the Performance Years Web Board. Here's the link.

I thought it was interesting to read somethings about why people may not go. That way we could avoid those things when/if we hold one. Knowing what to do is as important as what not to do, IMHO. Granted you are always going to have people mad at you no matter what you do, and some people you just can't please. Since some of these people may be in our draw area, I thought it might be interesting to know the why's and why not's of them attending or not. I'm sure it may not interest some people....
Also there is a letter to the editor about the NATS being on the west coast in the new edition of The Legend...

I think that if the club could raise the $$$ necessary to bring the GTOAA here, so it wouldn't come out of our general fund it would be very much worth it. The people who live out on the west coast generally don't go when it's back east, so if the people back east don't want come out here, it's a wash. We are well aware of how many cars lie east of the Mississippi, as opposed to west, but there are plenty of cars out here to make a worthy showing, when you consider Washington, Oregon, California Idaho Nevada, western Montana and western Canada are all within 2 days drive. The GTOAA has already stated to several club members that it would be a unique opportunity to see cars they don't ordinarily get a chance to see. What's the harm here? If people want to bitch and not go fine. There are plenty of people who do. I think it's great that we are atleast looking into the possibility. I would hate to think of missing out on this opportunity because of how much we don't know about it.

I agree with Mike on this one. There's no reason to be against the idea. If you don't want to go or volunteer to coordinate it - fine. I don't blame you. I'm too busy to do it myself, but I still see the interest. If you don't want to be involved then it's no skin off your back.

Lonnie,

It's no skin off your back because you've already given us your skin, your arms, you legs, your brain......

LONNIE'S BEEN ASSIMILATED!!!! :o

Oh yea, he's one of us... That happened a while ago... :)

I for one plan to volunteer to bring a national event to Seattle. I'd like to see the Northwest represented to the rest of the country.

So, who do I need to talk to first? :)

Kendall,
Last I understood, Brent West, Denny Deal, and Steve Martin were fairly heavily involved in researching the details of hosting the Nat's. You could check with them either at the next meeting, or email them from our roster (http://www.northwestlegends.com/roster.php) page.

It appears as though there is a lot of support from the GTOAA on the whole idea too.
