Gone in 17 hours. She had the car for sale at (Buy Now $25,000.) Bidding was fast and furious so she pulled the Buy Now price. I guess others must have noticed the Hurst insignias on the glove box and trunk lid.

Larry,
Usually when a car was sold with Hurst wheels (dealer option) the Hurst emblem was available to the buyer and it was placed on the trunk of the car or simply handed to the buyer to place where ever they wanted. However, since PMD used Hurst shifters/linkage the emblem was available to anyone that wanted one. And in todays restoration business you can buy a new reproduction Hurst Equiped emblem for $30. (AMES) and place it anywhere on your car you wish.
If you look at that eBay car that started this thread, you'll also notice that it was restored using a Chev 12 bolt rear end, different valve covers and various other 'non-stock' items. The Hurst emblem on this cars glove box was more than likely added by someone more recent than '66. To find a car that was sold (ie: a Royal Bobcat) with Hurst wheels and the emblem, you'd need to have the dealer paperwork to authenticate it's originality. However, so what, who cares, it looks nice (placed properly) and it highlights the Hurst equipment. I have an emblem for my cars and used it on the Plum Mist since I have Hurst wheels it just kinda made sence.
Hope this helps.

Mr Gasket makes a reproduction that is very nice. It is part #136 1000. I was able to order one through the local parts store for about $15-18.00. I have not found anything to stick it on...except the shelf with all the other ..."toys"!

She sold the car for $1,100. more than she was originaly asking. Thanks for the update Al. Original or not, unless the pictures are deceiving, it's a pretty nice looking rig.
