Buy the Right to buy the new GTO???

Hi All,
Ever seen anything like this? I found this on EBay tonight. This guy is selling someone the right ot buy the new GTO at MSRP (+ the winning bid price...) And there are 14 bids already.... Does this sound strange to anyone but me???? :o

I see this all the time, it's called supply and demand. See this more on the higher end cars.

Yep, the Reedster's right. Some guys will pay extra to be the first one to drive a new ride...

I remember my boss went out & bought at 2nd sticker the first Ford Excursion in Washington state.....Drove around town thinking he had the gold key to the crapper..

When it all wore off he took a bath trading it in for a 1/2 ton Suburban. ;)

How hard is it to go down to the dealer and order one? Are they really pre-selling that many? I wouldn't walk across the street to get one if they were giving them away for free let alone pay for the priviledge to buy one...but, I'm sure some people will fall for it.

Awww 'com on Unknown.....You know you could take one for free, we could set up the live cam feed to this website across from the dealership....Then you could bounce it off the rev-limiter & engulf the place in tire smoke, banging gears down the road....For free, imagine, you could treat it like a rental ;)

I actually thought about buying one for my company car....
