Who's in for the September 13th event?

One note of interest on the Bremerton Raceway website is they changed their rules, Mike S & I were looking it over & it appears they do not allow open headers.
Any Big Shooters might want to check that out before it could ruin a day at the track!?!

Yakima will be represented with a 10 second 63 Tempest which just won Best Appearing car at Firebird Raceway last weekend. This car also won Best of Show at Tiger Run.

The no open headers is kinda a relaxed rule.....remember last year Reed Racing and Bob? You ended up uncorking the headers and had no issues.....

You guys ran open all weekend.

Friday is test & tune, gates open at 4 and run till dark. Then I'm throwing a BBQ at my place in Bremerton afterwards. E-mail if you need directions:
gto@tscnet.com

I need to touch base with Chuck & Annie about the Chili & Burrito feed Saturday after the races. It is an annual must do................

See you guys (and gals) in a few!!!

OK - Just got the official word from JP, the GTO Hype King - The Annual Beistline Chili & Burrito feed is ON!!! Chuckles has been collecting the ingredients and started cooking already!! I think one year he went over 100 Burritos and 5 gallons of Chili. Mike Santella - - lets kick in a few bucks to them as a gesture for the excellent cuisine he puts out every year. I say write them a NW GTO Legends check for $100 and bring to the party where we can present to them. I'll make the motion, someone second it, all in favor...YES!

Again for those in town early for the test & tune Friday night, you are all invited to a BBQ at my place, also in E. Bremerton.

See you next weekend!

No headers allowed ? That's lame, lame, LAME
What is next, no race cars allowed ?

Hey Ponsteen, You're in Yakima and you have a 63 Tempest now ?
Are you near the Krueger Bros. Farm in Wapato ? They were the largest pepper grower in the NW, I used to drive all the way over there for a wagon load of jalapenos at about this time of year :D Love that extra Wampum

Thanks for posting Brandon! $250 is very generous, and I think due as I think we forgot to give them anything last year. In years past I would drive them over a gift certificate to Outback Steakhouse. I'm sure they will really appreciate this gesture. Now we have to make sure he'll take it!

Hey everyone. Just a update, the no open headers rule is because they clear-cut the whole area surrounding the track. Unfortunately they do enforce it. Neighbors started complaining. I will probably uncap after tech. See you all there.. Chet

Yeah - You'll notice as you drive in off the freeway that there are new home & residential communities...
(recipe for disaster)

We need to let Royal Botkin know that the Golden Tiger needs to be muffled...
The roar of the Golden Tiger will need to be reduced to the meow of Aunt Bea's Lap Kitty...

Royal Botkin has been informed. You don't bring hamburger to a steak barbeque. Now do you?

REED_RACING

So the deal on the open headers. The track will only enforce mufflers if they get complaints from the neighbors.

People move near the race track ...THEN complain. Kind of like people that buy a house near the treatment plant then complain about the smell.

Won't need that rule with the STOCK69 lol

I'll be taking the digital camera and digital video cam, hoping to get some action shots for the calendar. If you want your car in the calendar be sure to let me know so I can get a shot.

I'm bringing the wrong car for action shots but perhaps I can get a calendar picture of me in action eating Chuck's burritos & chili...

Here's a link to some photos I and my wife took. I'm not sure which are club members and which aren't.

Carolyn, if you want any of these for the calendar just let me know the picture(or car #) and I'll e-mail you the full size image.

Pat

BTW, I have video of a car (#257) and of Bob's car(two runs). If you'd like a copy I can burn them to disk and give them to you at the next meeting.

The results were a complete bloodbath for the club. Pig made the next round and that was it. We all made a early exit. Was a great time anyways. Chuck's burrito feed was awesome.

Bob Camping, Lynden Machine Works, ran the 67 silver pro street LeMans at the BOP. He went four rounds and cut these lights-.018/.018/.060/.007 RED.
He said it's a smoother ride on blacktop than running his blown Hemi alcohol boat in the 8's.

He has built severl pontiac motors including strokers using both Butler and SD stroker kits. He is a seasoned racer and since his son went one round who's the KING.
