I am trying to figure out what I might do for my holidays this year, and would probably spend at least a part of it in the Pac-NW...
I have gone to the Portland Swap meet for the last two years, but for the most part have been wholly unimpressed with the vendors.
~ Maybe it's just me, but since I've started attending various swap meets circa the late 90's, they seem to have a lot more garbage/chinese made stuff/toys than they used to... it seems as though finding people selling good parts at reasonable prices are fewer and further between with every passing year(!?)
The impression I had from the '07 swap meet was that every third vendor had a muncie four speed for $700+ :(
I have noticed that most of the actual used parts (the real reason why most people check out swap meets) is actually at hte PIR swap meet(!?)
Last year I think I only bought some GM literature... because I couldn't find anything I needed or wanted (for myself or the other people I was looking for parts for).
I wouldn't mind going and being able to bring one of my cars (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2388205) to PIR (or another track that allows street cars to get track time) ~ going for the Portland Swap meet means that racing is out of the question...
Any suggestions as to events that I might want to check out?
