Mike passed a cost sheet around so that the membership could see the different articles and their associated price. - CLUB CALENDARS – Carolyn Warren brought 7 Club Calendars to the meeting to sell to the membership. $12/each.
- GUEST SPEAKER OF THE MONTH - Mike Santella announced to the membership that he decided to ask the Guest Speaker to come back next month to our next meeting because the noise level would just make it too hard to be able to hear him and his topic.
NEW BUSINESS:
- NEW TRIPLE XXX RULES - Mike Santella spoke to the membership about the meeting that he went to at the Triple XXX drive-in in Issaquah. This meeting was attended by most of the car clubs in Washington. New rules were discussed and Mike explained these and the consequences if they are followed:
--- The parking space around the Virginia Mason facility will be roped off, and we cannot park any cars there or block the entrance. Any cars parking inside the roped off area or blocking the entrance will be towed off.
--- Jose brought up the subject of burn-outs. Absolutely no burn-outs will be tolerated. If anyone in our club violates this rule, we will not be welcomed back next year. Some suggestions were made to help prevent this from happening. Stefan Fafnis suggested that we have a police car posted at the exit. Mike Buzzard suggested we post a sign, saying “NO BURNOUTS”.
--- Mike Santella explained that the host hotel for our event will be the Hilton Garden Inn and they will provide rooms for overnight stays, starting at $89/day.
- POSTING CLUB MEETING MINUTES – Mike Buzzard complained about the Club Meeting Minutes being posted to our Website so late in the month and asked that they be posted earlier in the month. Wally Santella, said he would “get right on it”.
- JACQUELINE WANAKA – Wally Santella asked the membership if anyone new Jacqueline Wanaka who had paid $45 dues but was not in the Club. Stefan Fafnis identified Jacqueline as Guyle Rude’s girlfriend, so that mystery was explained.
- GARY TISCHER’S VACATION TO EL SALVADOR – Gary Tischer is planning a vacation to El Salvador and has one spare bedroom left in the villa that they will be staying at with other friends who will be going with them as well. The spare bedroom will go for $400/week. See Gary if you are interested.
- TIGER RUN PREPARATIONS – Pat Murphy explained to the membership that the posted info on the Goat Herd’s website for this year’s Tiger Run was old and out of date and that new info will be posted shortly.
- CONTINUED DISCUSSION ON CLUB APPAREL – Mike Santella continued the discussion about our club apparel efforts after circulating the price sheet. During this exchange, the question was raised on whether we should sell club apparel to non-members. Arguments were made for and against. No final resolution, so this will be continued at next months meeting. A motion was raised to open the cost of the apparel bid to other suppliers in order to make sure we are getting a good price. The motion was passed. There were a lot of questions and discussions and it was very hard to hear, so ultimately it was decided that we think about different issues and continue the discussion at the Great American Casino next month, where we could hear each other much better.
- SPRING CAR CLINIC – Denny Deal raised a question to the membership as to whether they would like to have another Spring Car Clinic at his SASCO Warehouse in Woodinville this year. Membership gave a ringing endorsement, so Denny made a suggestion to the Club Officers that we consider the idea of holding April’s Club Meeting at his SASCO Warehouse followed by the Spring Car Clinic. The Club officers will consider this and pick a date for the Spring Clinic.
