The 2nd annual HotRod-A-Rama will take place tomorrow (Saturday) in Tacoma at the Swiss Tavern. ReedRacer and I attended last year, and let me tell ya it was the funnest show I went to all summer. (Aside form Pontiacs) If you like traditional stuff, and lot's of live music all day-all night, check it out. The website link is here: http://hotrodarama.com/

Here's a little description from the website:

What cars are allowed in this little shindig?
This event is specifically designed for the traditional hotrod and custom car enthusiast in mind.(If I gotta spell it out for you, you probably wouldn't understand it anyways!)Below is a list of some of the things we like and dislike.

This a pre-1965 event.

;DWe as hard core hot rodders dig:

Real magnesium Halibrand wheels!
Candy paint and primer jobs!
Hard rubber pie crust slicks!
Ford flatheads!
Anything with a HEMI in it!
3 pedals!
Hotrod ingenuity!
Split wishbones!
Crusty old dragsters and gassers!
Blowers and Hilborn fuel injection
HOP UP, RODDER'S JOURNAL, CK DELUXE
ROLL AND PLEATS, PRIMER, ROD & CUSTOM
50's style choppers and bobbers
Laid back cool folk that dig the iron
(it's all about the iron)

:PWe as hard core hot rodders don't dig:

Any Billet Wheel ( None!)
Pink or Turquoise with 80's graphics
Fuzzy Dice and Poodle Skirts
Crying Baby Dolls (PUKE!)
Velour or Tweed interiors (office furniture)
GM tilt columns
The gold chainer "1-800" mentality
Independent front ends (unless its really low!)
Trailer Queens (unless it's a drag car)
Pro-Street High Tech Street Rods
you know which ones suck!
Stockers that you are afraid to cut up!
Wannabe Harley posers!
Car show trophy whores with egos

I could go on with this but I think your starting to get a feel of the vibe we are going for. If this sounds like your kinda party, come join us for one helluva good time.

O.K. Brad,

I think I catch your drift for this event.....

I am planning to make a big splash at this show, here's what I have prepared to "fit right in" with the crowd:

First off I have aquired a 1983 DeLorean stainless steel sports car. I have equipped this gem with 20" billet wheels with spinners. I have then loaded the underside with a combination of teal & magenta neon lights.
Not to be outdone by any other hotshot at the show, I have added a combination of white driving & amber fog lights to the nose of this ride.
I then added lots of "boom" to supply my "Miami Vice themesong" music & a compilation of John Parr, Rick Springfield, & perhaps if the mood is right, a little MC Hammer.

To complete this mo-teef, you can find me, I will be striking a pose like the picture depicts below:

Now to finish off this ensanble I hope to fit right in with this crowd, but yet I want to really make a statement.

Help me decide which clothes to wear, the ones on the left, or the ones on the right of the attached picture.

And I hope they have my beverages of choice: Wine Coolers...I want to hit the Beer Garden sporting a Segrams Wild Berry Cooler.

Chainer ;No Brainer!

You will politely be turned away and advised of the orphan car show to the south and east. Hope you have enough gas and wine coolers. ;D

Alright here you go boys & girls. First pics of the 2nd annual Hot Rod-A-Rama.

The place was packed with some real c ;D ;DL iron!

Bands played tunes all day and all night: Dollar Store Cowboys, Drag Strip Riot, Dusty 45's, & of course Deadbolt.

It was good to see some legends in attendance (Mark D., ReedRacer, Pig, Lee & Feedie, Stef, Bertucci's, anyone else I forgot?)

Ya totally fun show. Not many shows where you can see cars, drink a beer, see a band and get a tattoo, all in one. Dude keep the pics coming, can't wait for next year. Pontiac Shack is now the Shackdaddy!

That was an awesome hardcore rod show....

I'm glad they put up with me in my Sonny Crockett costume. ;D

By the way thanks for the awesome ride in the 55' Gasser Brad, nothing like a 10 second "all over the road pass" in downtown Tacoma. :o

As we were sitting there eating Pizza, listening to Dollar Store Cowboys, overlooking the vast array of Kustoms, I could hear the unique buzzing sound of the tattoo artists next to us doing their thing.

Yea, that's atmosphere!
