It's time again to get organized for this summers Vintage auto races and car corral. This year it is going to take place July 3,4 and 5th. The theme is going to be the 100th annaversary of Chevrolet, featuring the Corvette. Vince Edelbrock will be the special guest. The schedule will be something like this...
Friday July 3rd:
Practice for all classes of cars.
Saturday the 4th:
Practice, qualifing and races #1 and 2 for all classes. Vic will be available for autographs at different times throughout the day (his signing schedule will be posted daily at the Chevrolet tent) During the lunch intermission all the cars that are in the car corral will be allowed onto the track for 2 parade laps.
Sunday the 5th:
Races # and 4 for all classes will be held. The same parade lap schedule for the car corral will be during the lunch time intermission.
The cost for the event is $25 per person each day or $40 for a 3 day pass. This is a pass for the car corral car show parking. It allows the holder complete access to the pits, car corral and all viewing areas of the racing course(the best part is the car corral parking). The club voted to pay for up to 10 one day passes as I understood the vote. What we want the membership to do is decide whether we all want to do the car corral car show as a group on Saturday or Sunday or some on both days. Myself I always buy the 3 day pass and bring a different car each day. So we will have club exposure on both days. Last year Mitch won first place in the car show on Saturday and I won third place on Sunday. If you go to www.pacificraceways.com and follow the roadracing link to the vintage races put on by SOVERN you will get more details(mostly about last years event, they don't update the schedule untill a couple weeks before the event). Also if you have fourth of July family plans this is a great place to spend the day. The days activities are over by 5pm so there is still time for the evening barbie and fireworks at home or at one of the lakes. All profits for this go to Childrens hospital so its a great charity to be part of too. We need to get a total number of members to commit to the day or days that they want to go by April 18. I hope I have covered most pertinent information here but if you have any questions about the event and/or want to sign up for the car show reply here and/or call me, Mike Buzard @ 425-488-9487 or Tom Willett @ 425-644-4444. We will be happy to explain in more detail than I can here. If perchance you need to leave a message don't forget you contact info and number. Mike
