If anyone is in need of having their car detailed, let me know. I am doing some side jobs and figure who better to offer my services to? I use only top quality products, no Autozone garbage, and do a complete and thorough job. I can do everything from simple wash/clay/wax jobs to full on paint correction. I have all the tools and products under the sun. I have done work on everything from exotics to classics. If you are interested in getting your car in tip-top shape, give me a call at 206-351-4692. I work out of my warehouse and am available on the weekends. Your car will never look better, I guarantee it!
Thanks!

Paint repair? Do you think you can fix all those nasty paint chips on my car? I'm guessing it'll need a full on repaint, but if you think you can make it look decent I'm willing to give it a try.

Paint correction is different from paint repair. I can remove swirl marks, marring and holograming (damage to clear coat due to improper care). I can't fix rock chips.

115 views and no one needs their car professionally detailed? lol..here are a few pics for reference..
So, we all know I like to detail the car every weekend. This weekend is no different. I took the wax and such off with a high concentrate concoction of CG CWC mixed with PBW APC. Wheels were done with CG CWG, arches with CG Bare Bones. Tailpipes and plastics hit with MS SGS 2:1, trim treated with Black Wow. Tires dressed with CG VRP. Clayed with Sonus Green, then CG EZ Creme Glaze, 2 layers of CG Jet Seal 109 and finally 2 layers of CG 5050 and a Dodo Juice Red Mist wipe down. Various brushes were used on the wheels and arches, including the EZ Detail full size and mini, SV Pneu brush. Uber Boars Hair wheel brush and SV detailing brush. The interior was spotless, so it got a quick vacuum, Cockpit Premium and Adam's glass cleaner with an Uber glass MF. I am pretty sure this is the best the car has ever looked. I started at 7:30am and finished around 2:30pm.
Here are the pictures. As usual, not many during pics (I get caught up in the detail and forget to take pics) but at least I got some of the foaming this time! lol

I finally got around to using the orbital polisher I bought at Griots last November at the club car car clinic in Fife. Man, my arms are sore today, but it looks great!
Sorry Tom, I went with the do-it-yourself plan this time.

The first club member to give me a call dropped his car off today. I won't name names, but I will post some pictures tomorrow when it is done. The car in question is pretty hammered. I mean real bad in some spots. I love it! It is a challenge. Today I washed the car after treating it with a heavy duty APC (All Purpose Cleaner), the wheels were brought back to life with some CG Sticky Wheel Gel, the wheel wells were cleaned with APC and treated with CG Bare Bones (undercarriage protectant) and the tires were dressed with Adams VRT (the tires were also scrubbed with APC and looked like they have never been treated). The wheels were sealed with PBW Wheel Sealant and waxed with Gloss It QD. The entire car was clayed with Mother's yellow clay with Clay Magic clay lube. I was going to call it a day at this point because I had already spent all morning on my car (from 6am until 1pm) applying a new system from Gloss It (that looks absolutely phenomenal) but decided to test out the correction process I was thinking about for this car. I taped off half of the trunk and got out the FLEX rotary and a white CCS pad (mild cut) and some Menzerna P203F polish. I used the pyramiding method of low to high to low RPM and medium to light pressure to remove approximately 90% of the swirls and RIDS from the trunk panel. I was very impressed with the clear coat on this poor Pontiac. Tomorrow, full paint correction will commence followed by CG EZ Creme Glaze, CG Jet Seal 109 (2 coats) and a topping of Pinnacle Souveran paste wax. Maybe 2 coats. This car is going to look better than the day it rolled off the showroom floor. Maybe once you guys see it I can get one of you classic GTO owners to drop off their pride and joy so I can work on it! I also have no problem with anyone sticking around to watch and ask questions, I am mostly doing this to build a portfolio for a side business (yes, another one) I plan to open. There are very few high-end detail shops in Seattle (I'm not talking hacks like Jim's Detail either) and in order to get the exotics and contract work you have to show some previous work. I can only show pictures of my own car from so many different angles before they know it's the same car..lol..So wait on the pictures, this one will be a real jaw dropper.

teaser pic..the left side is corrected, the right side is not.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y244/SpyralXXX/DETAILING/DSCN0113.jpg
The white residue is from the polish, I had taped off the trunk to get that 50/50 shot. Notice the swirls and scratches on the right do not extend past the white residue line? That's what correction is all about!

Without further adieu, HERE COMES THE HAMMER!!!!
So, before the MC Hammer jokes start, let me explain. Stefan just picked up this car, a Pontiac Bonneville SSEI, in Spokane, WA. He drove it back and it was a mess! He called me up and asked me if I could help. Well, always up for a challenge, I told him I would see what I could do! This car was hammered! A date and time was agreed upon and he brought the car to my warehouse Friday.

July 4th, 2009. Aren't you supposed to go to a BBQ and blow stuff up?

Don & Pat, that's not the half of it. Most of those waxes are in the $75-$150 range. One of them is in the $200 range and I have yet another (not pictured) that is about $650.

Whoa Spyral ! You could open a detail shop with that amount of coin.....
Are you set up to shine Boeing 747's or something?
Isn't a nice DeWalt or Porter Cable buffer $250-$400 or so and a good supply of buffing pads about the same ?. What's the other $7k invested in ?
I'd take you up on your offer to do detailing but cash flow is tight so it's wax on wax off for me :)

Tom,
Gonna try and make the meeting. Heading off to the boat now to change a seal and bearing in a 60 hp vacuum compressor. Sounds like I could trade for that. I'll PM my cell, call me today. Mike

I only use FLEX polishers, they are made in Germany and are pretty much the end all-be all of polishers. I have a XC3401 (it is a RO polisher, like the PC in theory, but much more powerful with forced rotation), a 3403 (this is a straight rotary polisher like the DeWalt or Makita but it is far lighter and much better built) and finally a LK603 (full size buffer with LOTS of correction power). All total those three buffers were about $1200 (with backing plates). I have about 100 different foam buffer pads. Some of these pads are up to $30 each (3M UK waffle pads). I have somewhere around 400 assorted microfiber towels. Most of these are around $6 each. I don't use any Auto Zone crap, these are purpose made extremely nice towels that won't induce marring on your paint. I have about $3000 tied up in waxes. Some people may think this is insane, but exotic owners have this weird wax thing going on. One guy says his Ferrari came with a pot of Migliore Prima wax (every new one does) and the guy with a Lambo wants to know what I can put on his car that is more expensive..lol. So, these high end waxes are made for people who want the best on their vehicle. I just like having everything imaginable for every car imaginable. Some may think there is no difference, but there is. Put a car that I detailed next to one detailed with Auto Zone crap and you will see the difference right away. Then check back in a week and the difference will be even more evident. I have clay bars from all around the world, some of these are upwards of $50 for a 200g bar. They are also not sold in the USA due to Clay Magic's sue-happy lawyers. I have gallons upon gallons of detailing supplies, polishes (mostly all Menzerna and Einzette polishes - $45 for 32oz), brushes, applicators, a wet dry, pressure washer, and everything you could imagine. I am more than set up to open a detail shop and that is the goal. You can see how all my supplies could easily add up to $8000+. I just have to find a good location that I can attract drive by customers for simple clay/wash/wax jobs and work on full correction multistage details. I don't want to do it full time right now, just weekends and evenings by appointment. Just to give you an idea, a friend and I recently did (in Bellingham) a full correction interior/exterior detail on a Ferrari F40. It took us 28 hours. We charged $750 and got a $100 tip along with the customers promise to refer friends. I mostly do it because it is a lot of fun and very therapeutic to me. I relax more the harder I work.

I will do the Judge for free, just to add it to my portfolio. I just ask for some Diet Coke. Deal?
Wow, super, cool!
That's an offer I cannot refuse Spyral, I'm happy to add the Palladium Pounder to your portfolio of deep mirror finish rides
I'll give you a ring soon.
Thx

This car looks great, thanks a bunch Tom! The condition of this car was not the best, I believe the original owner must have lived down a long gravel road. Tom did an amazing job on bringing back the original appearance of the car, except of course for the damaged areas that were not repairable without some paint work. I can tell you I was really surprised Tom was able to bring back as much shine and depth in the clear coat as he did. I will be bringing more work back in the near future, love the attention to detail, DUDE, YOU ROCK!
