OK, so as we all know, I am the best detailer you know. If Stefan's Bonneville wasn't proof enough, well this ought to push you over the edge.
Thor brought his Judge down to the warehouse today. We spent an ENTIRE day detailing this car. Bruce and I sweated our butts off today in that warehouse, but we got his car into, how should I say this, FUCKING AMAZING shape. The car was washed, clayed, machine polished, machine glazed, sealed and machine waxed, a total 7 step process. 9 hours. Me on the exterior and Bruce totally taking the interior down and cleaning things he didn't know you could clean.
In all seriousness, I have a true passion for what I do with cars. Whether it be my car or a friends car, I really take pride in the results I get. If you are interested in getting your car detailed professionally, give me a call. As you can see, I have no problem if you want to spend all day with me and your car, I welcome the company and help! Besides, you could learn something about keeping the car beautiful!
Now on to the details!

Who's car is that, can't be Thors! Looks sweet!
Oh Yeah!
Helluva day
SPYRAL IS THE MAN !
Wow, this ’70 Judge has never seen this level of detail before—the paint finish is so clean and deep and reflective it blows me away—Past summers spent drag racing and doing home improvements left no time for really thorough detailing.
We worked from about 10:45 am to about 6:50 pm, Spyral laid down about 7 hours of magic on it, step after methodical step and I spent about 4-5 hours with Spyral's guidance and excellent products and materials, working the interior, wheels, glass, and the bumper and a bit of work on the roof where the long arms are handy..
There were a lot of contaminants in the paint that the bubble wash and bumper to bumper clay job got rid of, this thing is as smooth as glass, I can hardly believe it.
Spyral’s knowledge and skill level with restoring finishes is beyond anybody I’ve worked with before including somebody that claimed they did “Junior’s” cars and another guy I paid many hundreds to for color sanding years ago.
PULLED OVER BY SEATTLE POLICE AFTERWARD—Oops !
After the session, I remembered that Slim’s LAST cHANCE Saloon & Chili shack was on the way home, I slid in there for a quick Manny’s pale ale. It went down fast! I paid the bill, climbed back in and sped off up 1st Ave South. Shheeesh, I blew by a SPD car approaching 50 mph. He pulled me over, came up to my window and told me we were being video taped. I said “MMMM-Kay” :o
He ran wants-warrants, asked me why I was doing 50 in a 35 zone and if I knew my speed. I said, awww heck, we just spent 7 hours detailing and waxing this thing and I thought I was doing over 40 but not near 50. I didn't mention I just guzzled a pale ale.....He handed me my license and said, keep the speed down
Yessir, that’s a promise.
Good officer ! :)
I drove home with a tender foot after that. :D
THANK YOU SPYRAL—I can't say enough how good this turned out and I’d encourage anybody that would like to get that deep, reflective finish back with clay, cleaner, glaze, polish, wax, and the rest of it to give Spyral’s service a try, it’s awesome and he knows his stuff !
P.S.
On the interior, We did not clean the original Hurst T handle shifter. I did not want to take the 39 year old "fistfull of authority" patina out of that thing.

Tom - I would like to sign up for the Thor treatment on my '69 prior to MCM.
I have many nicks and dings I am hoping to hide, not to mention the paint and interior need some long overdue TLC. How far out are you booked?

Mike,
I can get you in the weekend before MCM. Are you planning on hanging out or dropping the car off? Saturday or Sunday is fine. I only have 3 cars booked right now between now and then and one of those is only an engine detail, so you have your pick.Let me know what works for you and I will pencil you in!
Tom
Mark, I am in Canada that entire weekend, cannot make the Leavenworth event...thx for asking :)
Mike, I think you'll be a happy man after Spyral does his duty on your mighty fine set of wheels ...

Yo Unknown Authority, I set out to mount those valance trim pieces while I was @ Spyral's warehouse, remember I talked about those re-pop chrome plated tirm pieces ?. . I decided I'd tap the posts on the trim pieces and attach the clips with machine screws and washers. I broke the tap in Spyral's drill press so I couldn't mount them..what was your idea on attaching those?

Bruce, here is a picture from the 1970 GTO Assembly Manual. Page 335. Section 14-3.2. What you want to look for is in the lower left corner "View A".
It shows the moulding tip (Item 25) going through the slot in the Valance Panel (Item 28) and then being held there by the metal retainer (Item 26) and the screw (Item 27). You can see how the clip is positioned behind the valance panel. Maybe it's easier to do this with the panel already off the car? When I got my reproductions of these mouldings there were no threads in the tips and only a rubber type grommet, instead of a screw, that feeds into the end of the tip. Originals may actually have these pieces threaded, but I'm not sure how to do that on these pieces without damaging them. Hence, I have not tried. Perhaps Mr. Kelly Lay could share some insight about this or anyone else that has used these reproductions succesfully...
I couldn't post the entire sheet, so I just cropped it to show the important part. You said you had a manual anyway, so hope this helps
Thanks for posting what page in the assembly manual you found that in JB !
I'll start another thread on this topic to keep this current one closer to being on topic
