Hey folks - Grant from the POCI club sent me an email tonight asking how many folks from the club were planning on making the BOP Cruise. Are any of you planning on going this year?
The flier for the event is on the home page. The event is 9-26.

Chime in if you are planning on going. I will be. Hope to have at least a few GTO's old and new from the club attending.

The weather's gonna be great! If any of you northenders are thinking it's too far to drive, consider taking the Edmonds-Kingston ferry and meeting up in Quilicene. That's what I plan on doing.

We're planning to meet up with everyone in Quilicene and then head up to Port Townsend. Brandon, we might see you at the Kingston Ferry terminal. We're taking the '55 Chieftain.
It should be a good time.

Here are a few pics from what turned out to be a great day of cruising.
We started out with 30 cars at the I5/512 McDonalds and wound up with 41 cars by the time we got to Port Townsend. The drive up Hwy 101 was picturesque. The weather was great, which made the drive along the water incredible.
Lunch at the Olympic Timber House was great and the sight of all of that GM Muscle in their parking lot was even cooler. We finished at Fort Warden looking east over Puget Sound before splitting off to take in the city.
Special thanks to Sig Larson for organizing this event. The POCI club has done this drive as a club before, but this was the first year they invited the other Pontiac clubs, the Olds club and the Buick club to come along. There was a great mix of cars from all camps to see.

More pics...
Interesting to note that of the 41 cars that made the trip, not one had any mechanical issues. Many of these cars were over 50 years old and all held 60 MPH or more, the majority of the trip. This is either a testimate to GM and the quality of their cars, or to the owners who maintain them and aren't afraid to drive them......or both!
Don, Brandon and Shawn - thanks for representing the club. It was great to see you guys. Already looking forward to next year's trip.

Hey Mike,
I agree with everything you said about the cruise. It was so cool to see the variety of BOP cars on this trip. For those that didn't make it to Sequim, you missed a real treat. I'm attaching a few pictures taken inside Sandy's barn. He was really into Lincolns but as you can see from the pictures he collected a few other nice rides as well. He also makes all the lighted signs himself and when asked if he sells them he replied "no". Sandy was a gracious host and we really appreciate him opening up his Barn for us.
