Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(March 6th, 2010)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 5:20 pm by our President, Mike Santella, at the Great American Casino in Tukwila, WA.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
Sig Larson, Marion and John Veer and Dan Dickey, President of the Washington POCI club were recognized and introduced to the membership.
SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella provided March’s 2010 Secretaries Report. February’s Club Meeting minutes were read to the membership and posted to the Club’s Website.
TREASURES REPORT:
Judy Booth presented the Treasures Report, announcing a Beginning Balance of $2,177.16 and an Ending Balance of $2,106.53.
CLUB CORRESPONDENCE:
- Mike Santella received 9 club newsletters from other clubs that he shared with the membership.
OLD BUSINESS:
- 2009 MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD – Mike Santella presented the 2009 Member of the Year Award to John Bozony.
- 2010 SPRING CAR CLINIC – Denny Deal announced to the membership that eh won’t be able to use his SASCO warehouse this year for the clinic because they are in the process of making renovations. Ted Knapp has agreed to provide his warehouse in Sumner on April 10th to host our annual Care Clinic.
- CLUB NEWLETTER DELIVERY VIA EMAIL THROUGH THE INTERNET – Mike Santella explained the plan to delivery our Club Newsletter via the Internet to those members that choose to receive it in this manner as apposed to regular postal mail. Mike related the decision to do this as an option in order to save money on the mailing process. To date, 16 members have signed up to receive their Club Newsletter via an email through the Internet.
NEW BUSINESS:
- 2010 GOAT HERD/POCI/NW GTO LEGENDS PICNIC - Mike Santella talked to the membership about plans for putting together a multi club get together picnic this summer involving members of the Goat Herd from Oregon and the Western Washington POCI and NW GTO Legends clubs. The initial thinking is to set the date for some time in late August/early September. Mike has sent out emails to the POCI and Goat Herd but has not heard back yet. Mike will continue to pursue this and report back to the membership on further progress.
- 1969 JUDGE FOR SALE – Gary Tischer spoke to the membership about a 1969 Carousal Red GTO Judge that Jack Rowzinski is selling. Gary says it is numbers matching.
- 2010 GREENWOOD CAR SHOW – Tom Willett updated the membership on this years plans for the 2010 Greenwood Car Show, which is scheduled for June 26th and the 2010 Vintage Vehicle Show which is scheduled for July 3rd. Tom let a discussion about the Club paying for some of the entry fees but there was final decision yet.
- 2010 FIREBIRD SHOW – Brent West talked about his other car club and their Western Washington Firebirds Show, which is scheduled to be held on August 15th. Brent would like as many NW GTO Legend members to attend as possible. This event will be held at the Country Village shops in Bothell.
- 2010 SACC NATIONAL CONVENTION - Rick Johnson talked to the membership again about the SACC National Convention which will be held on July 13-15 in Bowling Green, KY.
- TOM CROOK MUSEUM TOUR – Sig Larson asked the membership to consider attending the Tom Crook Museum Tour on March 20th. His POCI Club will also visit Ault Electric on the same day, at 10:00am.
GUEST SPEAKER OF THE MONTH: - There was no guest speaker of the month.
SHOP TALK:
- Don McLaughlin updated the membership on his LS7 clutch install, which he says turned out pretty good.
- Jim Bozony installed a new clutch cable on his Harley.
- Brent West reported that Kelly Lay completed the repaint of his Goat, with an interesting flame scheme. Brent will make arrangements to go to Oregon and bring the car back.
- Tim Moe has his 66 up for sale and will post in on our club website.
- Tom Willett has order a new heater core for his 65 GTO.
- Kevin Sullivan is working on his 05 GTO and is going for 800 horsepower.
50/50 Raffle - A 50/50 Raffle was held and Tim Moe won $48.
MEETING ADJORNED:
The club’s Business Meeting was adjourned at 6:25 PM, by Mike Santella. Next meeting will be held at the Great American Casino in Tukwila, on April 3rd, at 5:00pm.
